Cheap flights?
« on: August 03, 2004, 10:06:08 PM »
Hiya all,
Been a long time since I've posted....I enjoyed reading all the posts and catching up. Its great to see this place has stayed friendly!
Wondering if anyone has seen any good deals on flights both to and from the USA. Seems once we told family we are heading home this year they are now in a hurry to get over for a visit! Figures huh? Where were they when my home sickness was full bloom?  ::)
Any leads are much appreciated!

I know other people have suggested places in other posts, but I just found sidestep.com.  It requires a download, but so far, I think its great.  I managed to get a roundtrip ticket from here to Gatwick for $447.  They include Northwest, which most dont.  Hope thats helpful.

The other day I noticed Northwest is doing a deal from Houston to Gatwick in November, $331 return.  You have to fly mid week.  I found it through Travelocity.com.  Northwest tends to do their deals through many cities at a time if Houston isn't close.

Always try Aer Lingus.  Depending on where you are flying into and out of it can be very reasonable.  My husband and myself almost always end up flying with them.  We've got tickets to go home October half term from Manchester to Chicago for about 275 pounds per ticket incl. tax.  :)  Just a word of caution.  This is NOT a luxery airline.  Tends to be very basic, but suits our needs down to the ground!

www.site59.com is great for last minute trips to London.  It is usually a package that includes hotel or food.
