Ashley is my name. I refuse to change it in case another Ashley goes for it. It's the first time I've ever been on any website and managed to grab the Ashley username. I refuse to give it up!

I know what you mean! I'm registered on another site as Jennifer (my name) and I was ridiculously thrilled about it!

I was Ellaskan for most of the 90s because I'm Elly who lived in Alaska. Then I wanted a change, so I switched to SheAteAWholePie. "sheateawholepie" was a rumor started about me in middle school. One of my "friends" told the popular crowd that she witnessed me eat an entire pie. Coupled with the fact that I was taller and slightly bigger than the other kids, the rumor took hold, and for a week, a lifetime in middle school, I was taunted, teased and humiliated. At the time, I was beyond consolation. But now that I'm in my thirties, I don't know a single person who hasn't eaten a whole pie, pizza, cheesecake, gallon-tub of ice cream, etc. Having "sheateawholepie" as my go-to internet handle just reminds me to keep things in perspective. What may bother me today will be trivial tomorrow.  ;D

This is the reason I won't change mine. :)

I can relate, my name isn't very rare, there is usually one or two or more with my name and I like using my real name for community based websites...susually can't just go by my name as is so I just use the way my sister likes to spell my name lol.

I have used some form of Angelique on every site I have been on since 1994 :)  I am not very creative I guess.  I love the show Dark Shadows and Angelique is a character on that show.  I adore her, so I stole the day and my birthday is the Ides of March (hence the 315).
Met and fell in love with a Scotsman in early 2007.  Moved to Scotland early 2009.  Had to come back to the US in June 2009 to deal with idiot government employees who screwed up my daughter's passport.  Finally back in Scotland, March 9 2010.  Yes I did fly a 16 hour flight with 3 children and 2 plane changes!

Madeira is the cat in my avatar.  Or was.. she died last year.  The name was chosen in an attempt to calm her down.. 'madeira' sounds peaceful.  Didn't work, that cat was a menace.  To dogs, children, furniture, houseplants..
