Still no snow here, and I don't think we'll get more than a flurry. But it is bitterly cold. And you know you live in Cornwall when, even with these temps, you see men wearing board shorts at the supermarket!!

That would be my brother.  You can take the boy from the beach...

Still no snow here... The Parcel Force man just came to pick up some parcels (duh) and claims they are warning drivers that 10 inches will fall overnight (Surrey/Hants area).  We shall see...

It's been snow all day here in Crewe/South Cheshire. Can't believe they won't snow plow, except for the main roads, nor that people on the street don't shovel for each other. but, as other posters have said on other threads, that's just how it is here. Well. Alrighty then. MiL said that they used to have snow chains years ago, but they're not around anymore, because there haven't been heavy snow falls in the past. Still seems strange to me. Why wouldn't people keep them around, "just in case"?

The news just said Hants will get 40cm - which is about 15 inches!

Where are you, Red5? I'm in southwest Cornwall - we had rain earlier and we weren't expected to get snow but it's snowing!!! And it's sticking, too!! Granted, it'll all be gone by morning and we're not going to get any accumulation worth mentioning even tonight, but it looks pretty at the moment!

No show here, but they are forecasting a hard freeze and sleet for the end of the week.  Snow twice in Houston in one winter, I'll have to look out for flying pigs this weekend.

Nothing in our part of Bedford yet, though someone in a village a few miles south of here is -claiming- they have snow.  But really, I saw like.. THREE flakes earlier today, and that's been it.

I'm just outside Winchester, and it's snowing here a little bit.

My husband looked at a radar map on the TV and where we are there was a big hole in the cloud, so we'll see if we get a lot of snow.

But, I did say that when I lived in Ohio, there would be nights where I would go to bed, and in the morning there would be a foot of snow on the ground.  If that's the case, I'm not going to work tomorrow....I've already laid out the schedule of activities for the week, sorted the supplies (I was due to go on a training course tomorrow but they canceled it already due to the weather), so they don't physically need me there.

We shall see!

Still snowing, but just a tiny, tiny bit here in Manchester.  People are weird, though.  Our neighbours from the flat below us spent over three hours trying to get the car out of the lot. About 90 minutes in, I went down to ask if they wanted me to go grab them some cat little or something to help out.  Their reply "no, it's okay, we have a shovel".

By hour three, they made it out...and got stuck in the snow on the unplowed street.  They're now parked on the street. I have no idea where they were going, but I don't think it was too important...

We have at least 6 inches in the parking area behind our house.  North & South Yorkshire also got hid pretty hard.  Buses & trains were still running in Leeds today though - so we trudged into work & back.

They say we're going to get more, and it's all heading down south too...so have fun peeps!
