It's almost stopped here in Derby, just really small snow bits falling. We've got about 4 inches on the ground.

It's started here now, and I'm already over it!

Woo hoo, just woke up to several inches on the ground!  Yay!  It won't last, but still, yay!

I noticed that since Monday we have had no mail and I haven't seen a postman anywhere. Are some not delivering because they can't get throught the ice/snow?

Oddly enough, the snow on our street was melting last night, because we could hear the drip-drip-drip outside our bedroom window which was driving us crazy. Woke up to slightly less snow. Drove just less than a mile to work, and there was actually more snow in the industrial estate. Weird. I guess those few yards closer to the sea really makes a difference.  :-\\\\

We had about an inch when I woke up at 6AM.  I'm in Hants, between Winchester and Salisbury.
It started snowing pretty heavy around 7:30.  It is still coming down and the girls are off school.  Lovely big flakes!
DH drove to Andover to catch the train this morning, and didn't have any problems.  However, it wasn't snowing then.  He is in London and will probably have an interesting time getting home tonight.
I'm off to dig the sled out of the shed, dress the girls in layers, and go have fun!  When I was young I used to get quite a few chest infections, so was only allowed to go out and clean my Mom's car.

Wow only an inch in that part of Hants??  I am on the Surrey/Hants border (Camberley/Frimley/Farnbrough area) and we have at least 8 inches outside.  I am searching around for a ruler for an exact measurement :)  Being from Denver, this is pretty normal for me, but its funny to see DH acting like a little kid itching to go play in the snow.

That's what I thought too, but it's sort of the opposite here. We're about a 5-minute walk from the sea and we have no snow whatsoever. But DH's office is in Penzance, directly on the seafront, and he's got a couple of inches there! (Though he says it's turning to slush and won't be around long.)

We're snowed in.  There are no cars moving outside at all.  Most of the schools are cancelled.  James had a job interview today which he's had to cancel so that's annoying.

It's cold, but a clear, sunny, stunningly beautiful day in Argyll without a flake of snow.

 :D

I'm so pleased!

If I never saw snow again except in films I'd die happy (Texas born, after all!).
