Maternity clothes selection in UK / NEXT

Surprisingly there are a lot of stores that do Maternity clothes, however they don't make it evident when you're in the stores as to where the maternity clothes are and staff are usually less than helpful at times.   

Personally I don't really shop at Next for clothes for myself, so I'm no use in that department.  But I can say their baby sleepsuits and bodysuits are fantastic value for money as they're cut longer than most so last well past their intended age range.

H&M do a good range and separate their Maternity clothes out from the regular stuff - they only do the maternity range in the UK & Europe, so you won't be able to get an idea for their stuff from the US (or online) unfortunately.  They do nice dresses too, that can last throughout your entire pregnancy.  I've got a fab plum coloured dress that I bought at about 20wks that's super comfy and chic for about £30...

New Look Maternity - they're consistently good at having directories in their stores as to where ranges are.  Personally, I find their clothes sizes tend to run more similarly to US sizes, so you don't need to go up 1-2+ sizes to get a fit.

JoJo Maman Bebe do good baby clothes.  I've had a few pieces off them from my last pregnancy & BF and must say their sizes definitely run slightly smaller than US & UK sizes.

La Redoute I've never ordered from them, but their maternity clothes do look really nice.

Bump to 3 - Maternity The official retailer for Grobag.  I've never ordered from their maternity range, but their sleepsuits are fantastic as they're basically non-slip socks sewn onto the bottom instead of fitted feet to allow for faster foot growth.

Blooming Marvellous

Pumpkin Patch - Maternity  They're primarily a children's clothing store, with a limited (in my experience) maternity range, but still a somewhat decent selection.

Mamas & Papas - Maternity They do really nice clothes and have a selection of both maternity and BF.

George at ASDA Maternity - a small, but somewhat decent selection and not available in all ASDA stores (check online before you go to avoid disappointment especially if you have more than one ASDA in your area).

I forgot about H&M's line, I know my local store in UK carries it too, I shopped there! I've got serious pregnancy brain right now. I also ordered from blooming Marvellous, thank you for the reminders.

H&M does offer maternity clothes in select stores in the US too.

Never looked at the JoJo maternity stuff but their baby clothes are sooooooo cute.  Ditto Pumpkin Patch.  La Redoute regular misses clothes run a bit small in my opinion, dunno what the maternity line is like.

Personally, I would strongly recommend hitting Target before you leave! My mom sent me some Liz Lange stuff and it's soooo soft and comfortable, and it's all so cheap compared to UK prices. I've had an awful time finding maternity clothes (that I like) (and can afford) in London -- but there have been some really good suggestions in this forum recently, so maybe you will have more luck.

It would help if I could order clothes online but I really need to try them on, nothing ever fits (think I'm some weird in-between size). If you normally order clothes online you'll probably have an easier time here!

I've already started my shopping, got some stuff yesterday in the sales. I'm hoping to bring enough for a full wardrobe, then be able to get bits and pieces as needed from the above shops - my MiL tells me our local Marks & Sparks has some basics, so that should get me through!

I didn't have a problem finding Maternity clothes in the UK, but from what I have seen I prefer the stuff from the US. I liked the styles/price better there. I did find some styles I liked in the UK, but it was usually in stores that were more expensive and I couldn't justify the price.

I didn't make it back to the US once I was far enough along to need maternity clothes, so I ended up getting most of my stuff from the clearance section here at Gap Maternity. Every so often they would have a ton of stuff for 4.99-9.99 and I would just stock up.

I just got a top and a pair of trousers at Gap Maternity...I really like their stuff, although most of it is too casual for me to wear to work. 

I love the jeans from H&M! They are great! Also, there was a Blooming Marvellous here in Manchester and it was going out of business a while back so I got a bunch of tops, but to be honest, I am wearing the stuff I got 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my son! Mostly from H&M and Blooming Marvellous! I got some Jeans in the states, but I prefer the ones here.
