I'm guessing now we'll have to book flights with both of our passports? I don't have BC, but if I did, would that mean that my British self and American self are two different people?  :P

Well that's fun and confusing.  Hope they figure it all out soon.

Yet another brainiac moment brought to you by government and software developers. I mean, seriously, how could they not have thought of this?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

The worst part is that last quote from UKBA. Sounds like they don't really care to solve the problem!

This one tickled me...

I'd like to see far stricter limits on who actually gets a 'second passport' to me, any foreign national who lives in the UK for 4 years is entitled to one?! This is crazy.

In the USA you have to serve 7 years in the Army before you are even considered, in Asia you need to live over 10 years.

For me, it has become far too easy for anyone to get a British passport, personally i think people should be made to make a choice what nationality they are.

Seven year in Army for USC? Any foreign national who lives in UK for 4 years is entitled to BC? Geez, where do people get such ideas?

I like the one where the guy said "If this problem had been sorted out we wouldn't have the damn government trying to control everyone"

What worries me is that many of these people have a vote.

And then David Cameron suggests raising the draw bridge for new immigrants so as to limit the number to tens of thousands.

I'm not one to defend David Cameron but what it says is

Tens of thousands "more than those moving abroad"

So it's about the net figure of inflation and tying in the numbers coming in with those leaving.

I think dual nationality should only be possible by being born into it.  US citizens who willfully naturalize as citizens of other countries should be forced to relinquish their US citizenship.  I wish the US government would crack down on this.
