What i'm going to watch - tonight!
« on: January 14, 2010, 05:05:39 PM »
There is already a thread for what we have watched , this one is for something on today that you reccommend.

Shallow Grave, Film 4 at 9pm

A brilliant Danny Boyle film that kickstarted Ewan McGregors career, great cast including a Dr Who, Ken Stott and Lily Allens dad - albeit only briefly  :-X

Shallow Grave so good at stoking '90s nostalgia.

Whale Rider is a charming little film....I think we'll watch Volver tonight.

And Glee. Jane Lynch kills me. ETA: A Mighty Wind, indeed.

I've been watching a bit of the Winter Olympics in the evenings. But I've also just seen the new Amazing Race and the new Survivor on YouTube (I have linked the playlists and I keep them updated on my YT channel for those interested).

Just spent a night watching "The Most Dangerous Man in America" and "How Vietnam was Lost"

Most interesting viewing. I highly recomend it. It can be seen over on BBC iPlayer. First was about Daniel Ellsburg and the second was self explanatory by the title. I seriously recommend the younger generation that weren't around during the 60's to check it out. A very important piece of history involving Amendment 1 of our constitution and the Vietnam 'conflict'.

After watching the second, I fear in 30 years time I will watching the same one but it'll be entitled "How Afghanistan was Lost"

Yes, it does if you have Sky - Living 4, maybe?

This is Mr MLG's guilty pleasure.

The rest of Volver and Glee, for sure, tonight.

For personal reasons obvious in my sig combined with my genetics degree, I'm getting the Freeview+ box to record Having a Baby to Save My Child tonight on BBC One after the news.

It's about a kid with a rare anaemia (not mine though) for whom there isn't a bone marrow match anywhere on the registry so his parents are using IVF and embryo selection screening to have a baby that will have matching stem cells for the child.
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London

Sep 06 - WP renewed again (screwed by 4-5 year ILR change)
Sep 07 - ILR!
March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!
Oct 12 - Amsterdam FULL marathon! 3:48:23!
