That's funny. I get something similar with my arms. The arm that I'm not sleeping on will go to sleep during the night. It's really annoying to wake up to.

Mine fall asleep nearly every night.  But it's more my hands...it happened before pregnancy but then I just slept on my back and kept them straight and it was fine.  No more.  :(

I read that RSI can flare up during pregnancy. It's all the water retention pushing on the nerves. I've got a bit of RSI in my right hand and I've noticed it starting to act up. It should go away once the baby is born.

You're right, I think that must be it.  Darn. If only I could sleep on my back!  I put a pillow next to me so I won't roll over onto my back in the night, and DH moved it in the middle of the night yesterday.  Doesn't he know his son needs that pillow?  :P

In any event, the last few days it's faded a bit and I can sleep, hallelujah.

Yayy for sleep! I must say, thus far in my pregnancy, that is one thing i haven't had a problem with. I must sleep at least 10-12 hours a day. At one point it was the only thing that would allow me to escape the nausea/vomitting so i would sleep as much as humanly possible... and i guess my body just got used to it? Im sure it will be a different story once the little one starts moving around a bit more..  :-\\\\  at the moment, it just feels like a little flutter in my belly.

Ashley I just saw this - I have the EXACT same thing when I'm pregnant. Right underneath the boob. Mine vibrates sometimes! Honestly, it happened so often with Philip we referred to it as my vibra-boob. The same thing happened with Henry, but it didn't vibrate as much. Just felt numb and weird right near the skin level.

I'm glad I've finally met someone with something at least Similar! :D

Hooray! I'm not a lone. I know what you mean by vibrate. It's like it tingles for a bit before becoming painful. Some nights is bad, some nights I can get through. Tell me it goes away after the baby!

It completely goes away after baby. I only get vibra-boob while pregnant, though it did seem to get worse the bigger I got.

While I was pregnant, I thought I remembered my midwife saying that you can sleep on your back without compressing the vena cava if you prop yourself up to a certain angle with pillows.  That might relieve it for you.  Best of luck.  I hated the lack of sleep while pregnant!

I'm going to see my GP this morning about this symptom. I've had a hard time of it lately. I just can't sleep lying down anymore. I have to prop myself up so high that I'm basically sitting up in bed. Last couple of nights have been rough although I've discovered that if I do this on the couch, I can kind of wedge myself into the back of the couch and my pillows and manage to get a few hours.

I'll let you know if they can figure out what it is.

GP thinks there's a nerve being compressed and is causing the pain when I lie on my sides. Nothing she can do about it. So I guess I'll be sleeping on the couch for the next 10 weeks.

She did give me what she called a soothing cream but it's in fact a cream for super dry skin, so I can't see it helping much.

Argh, so frustrating!  :( I really hope you can find a way to make yourself comfortable.

Don't you love it when doctors say there's nothing they can do?  :-\\\\

I hope you can get comfy somehow.
