honestly never thought of cadburys as chalky or greasy, I always think cadburys is really smooth, has a good melting temperature in the mouth, but I think Hersheys is disgusting, it's crumby and tastes burnt to me... I'm also convinced it smells of vomit, the Hershey store in times square can be smelt a mile off.

Hershey's SO tastes of vomit! You're definitely not the only one! I can't stand the vomitty taste of it. Blech!

Back when DH was just my boyfriend, a US friend sent me some Hershey Kisses. I hate them, so I gave the bag of Kisses to him, thinking he might like it and it would, at least, be a novelty. He and a friend tried them, but the bag was returned to me with the verdict, "They taste of sick."  :P

And I do agree that Cadbury's is nice and smooth, not greasy at all. But I don't like Galaxy much. To me, it's sort of slimy. I had the same reaction to Dove in the US. I don't know what it is, but ... ick.

As for milk, dark and white - I have no preference. If they're good, I like them all. I should have added Milky Bar to my list of faves!

Isn't it weird how tastes can vary? And two people eating the same thing can have totally different reactions to it?

Neither of us are wrong or course, or right, it's all just personal taste, no one else gets the Hersheys smells of sick thing, that's just me! :)

I guess it's partly what you're used to growing up :) Cadburys roses were always a big treat at xmas and we'd get those over Quality Streets.

I agree with you on galaxy hazelnut though - love it!

No..I know what you're talking about. :) But Hershey's Symphony is a whole 'nother animal than regular Hershey's. It's kind of like their higher end range of chocolate and it's smooth and melty and yummy like Galaxy. Oh, and doesn't smell or taste of sick. :P

I'm not a big chocolate bar fan but in particular of late, the other half will offer me Cadbury and it tastes too sickly sweet. :-X

I don't mind a Butterfinger or a Heath bar when I occasionally bump into them.

I find that I'm rather fond of Caramac lately. :)  I know some people don't consider white chocolate to be chocolate, but I love the stuff, and that hint of caramel flavoring?  Nom nom nom, nom nom...

I'm voting with the Hersheys crowd! I can eat Cadburys, but I usually choose not to... Too much milk, not enough cocoa!

My fave is Mr. Goodbar! Close second is Babe Ruth. Haven't had one of those in AGES.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

It's true - I've brought Hersheys back from holiday and colleagues think the milk chocolate tastes like vomit.

Well, to be honest, Hershey's isn't my favourite, but if my vomit tasted and smelled like Hershey Bars, I don't think you'd really need to feel sorry for me.

This blue mint chocolate bar is probably one of the best I've ever had: http://www.chocolate-connoisseur.co.uk/bovetti/b-1-26/
