My house mate asked me today if "Jersey Shore" is what Jersey is really like.  I've only seen pictures/itty bitty clips of these people, so I can only imagine what goes on.  I've pretty much refused to watch it, since
1) it's from the wrong part of Jersey (sorry to whoever's from Northern Jersey!) ;)
and 2) Only ONE of the cast members is actually from NJ!
I feel like it's people like these who give Jersey a bad name :-[ :-\\\\

But i'm sure it's a wonderful show, and great for some laughs :D

I haven't seen it, but I can only assume it's in Seaside Heights, which is central Jersey (I'm from the North where it's still farmland and cows and stuff. ;)) Seaside usually attracts the worst and most irritating people in existence in the summer.  My family has a tiny little beach house in Ocean Beach which is a 10 minute drive from Seaside.  I stay well away from there in the summer and drive to Island Beach State Park during the day instead.

I've seen photos of these people on blogs and stuff, and they must be from Staten Island or Long Island or something.  Or from another planet... :P :)

OMG I am from Long Island and these types of people do exist (however, thankfully not from the town I am from) I have been watching clips on YouTube and I hope it does come to MTV here in the UK. Sounds like good fun!!! I saw on some of the clips that they are from Jersey State becuase they were getting on the NJ Turnpike in their Cadillacs and saying "only 75 exits until the Jersey Shore"

Love it!

It's definitely funny to watch how ridiculous these people are, but it makes me think that ANYONE can get a reality tv show.

There should be one about UK-Yankee. That'd be a good show, I'd watch :)

Yay!!! haha i'm not the only one!!! Aaaaaaand i'm actually from jersey ;)

Many of my friends "banned" the show and refuse to watch it - but i think its soooo funny - definately over exagerrated with some points - and as PickledSakura pointed out only 1 cast member is actually from NJ  :P Believe it or not i've been living in the garden state for 10 yrs now and i've only been to seaside heights a couple of times - its not all like it is on the show but there are definately very similar characters you can run into while there.

I'd love to watch a UK-Yankee show - maybe someone should pitch it to the execs ;)

Ooooh and P.s. they announced the 2nd season is definately coming soon: http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=455275&GT1=28103
