How do I remove email option?

I don't wish to be contacted via email.  I think I've gone through every option in the Modify Profile section but I have seen nothing which allows me to modify how I can be contacted.  I've checked the hide email from he public box but the email icon still appears in my posts.

Go to your profile & on the list to the left is 'account related settings' there you can hide your email address. You will still see the envelope & your email on your profile but it will not be visible to others.

OK, click profile above.  Then account related preferences
Then click the box below your email that says hide email from public.

I just did that.  I still see it when I click on the envelope.  Do you?
