Interesting.  I've heard people say this before, but I also found the nutrition info online and Cambells has .87 grams for about 120 g of soup and Batchelors is .45 for 100 grams of the unprepared, more concentrated version.  I'm not sure if the cambells info is for prepared or unprepared, but either way, it looks to have a lot more sodium than the Batchelors does.  I know I am comparing different amounts--feeling a little too lazy to do the full math, but it doesn't look that far off at first glance.

On the other hand, I also found this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2020688/Campbells-condensed-soup-supermarket-shelves.html

So it looks like there are sources for it back on regular UK shelves.  I just don't know which stores carry it.

Campbell's is selling condensed soup in the UK now! :D

Boy oh boy! Campbell's is one of those things that I've stopped looking for, since I knew it didn't exist here.  Going to have to keep my eyes peeled now!  I love grilled cheese with a bowl of campbell's condensed tomato soup :)

The Campbells soup is still the same thing as Batchelors....They started selling it under the name of Batchelors because the license to sell under the name Campbells expired. They have now been able to start using the Campbells name again..

It still won't taste like Campbell in the USA....sorry... :-\\\\

I got the info from Wikipedia...

If you want to do a taste test without spending any cash, sign up for the Campbell's newsletter: http://www.campbellsoup.co.uk/get-money-off

They'll send you an email for a free can (be sure to open the PDF, as the email says 20p off, but the coupon is for a free can).

It doesn't seem to be in every shop yet.  My local Sainsbury's didn't have any, and Tesco only had Cream of Chicken - but I made a very tasty pasta off the label.  I'm suffering from a nasty cold at the moment and would do anything for a can of their Chicken Noodle....my version of childhood comfort food as my mom didn't cook!

From the info from Batchelors

In 2006, Campbell's soup withdrew from the UK market, and sold its assets, including Batchelors, to Premier Foods. The Campbell's name was licensed to Premier Foods until 2008, following which Campbell's Soup was rebranded as Batchelors.

Who knows maybe in the change back over they changed their recipes???
