I would also disagree strongly again with the advice for the OP to do it herself, especially if she has no sewing experience, she'll likely measure in the wrong places and the dress wont fit properly, a bridesmaid dress is not a knitted sweater

I also sew (a LOT) and I second this!

Please note, it was a suggestion, in fact phrased: "just a suggestion" with no insistence that that was the only option.  A little bad netiquette?

I'm able to read, please don't restate things at me when I'm trying to help, I find it very bad netiquette. Thank you.

My comment was intended to reassure the OP that conversion would probably be unnecessary and something that you as an experienced sewer seem to know so it's baffling why you wouldn't offer the same reassurance.

I highlighted taking own measurements as wrong because it could cost the OP a lot of time, money and heartbreak if she were to follow it. I, for instance, wouldn't advise someone, even phrased as a suggestion, how to fix a puncture, because I don't know anything about them, although if I saw someone suggest fixing it with candle wax, I probably would strongly advise them to find a better solution in case they followed that suggestion it's my way of imparting valuable advice based on expertise and background knowledge.

Just trying to help :)

Oh you should! I'd bet you'd make something lovely! :)
I quite like monsters which try and look ferocious but just look a bit cute, the big eyes help! :)

I always buy the size (I think it's my fifth bridesmaid dress now) of my biggest measurement and don't worry about the rest, since it'll all have to be taken in anyway!

But yeah, I usually have someone do it for me.
