I am so sorry that you are going through this but I highly, highly admire you for making this decision and standing up for yourself and your son. You are so brave and I am sure you will one day understand why all of this happened, the reason for everything- even though it may not have gone the way you initially planned, and be at peace with the decision you made. Sending you big hugs, peace and strength to get through this tough and emotional transition.
Follow your bliss.

OMG! I'm sorry that I haven't seen any of your posts before now.

But I just want to tell you ,your gut never lies. You are young, but not stupid. I (believe it or not) got married TWICE when I was young ...despite the warning signs , because I didn't want to hurt THEIR feelings.

2o years later, it's OK for a woman to have some balls . I know this is hard for you, but believe me, NOT as hard as a huge gut defying mistake. Trust yourself girl and don't make the same mistakes us old ladies made.

You will be fine. Hugs for the hurt, but damn I'm proud of you for following your gut!

I also live in Arkansas. I get to go home in April ,for the summer. Feel free to look me up.

Hoping for the best for you.  As has been said, you did the right thing if it felt wrong.  Have a safe trip home, and I hope all your friends and family will make an awesome homecoming for you.

You know how they say "everything happens for a reason..." it really truly does!!! We may not know it just yet - but one day you'll look back at these crazy days in your life and it will all make sense - til then chin up and so far your instincts havent steered you wrong! I wish you all the best! Sending you lots of hugs because i know you need just that! Have a great trip back!

I'll chime in here too, with a 'good for you'. So often we ignore our gut and have to deal with the consequences. You are to be admired for making the right decision for you.

Best of luck and things will work out for the best. much hugs

Lisa

Jewlz, I may take you up on that....and next time you are in Texas, we could meet in Texarkana and do...whatever it is that people in Texarkana do?

DH and I love Arkansas. We had our honeymoon at DeGray Lake. I'd be happy just to come to Little Rock and throw down (I'm not too sure I want to find out what they do in Texarkana.. I had some relatives from there who were crazy hillbillies!)  ;) I'll let you know if we can do that sometime! We are hoping for a road trip next year when we go, so that sounds like a good opportunity. I hope you and your son have a safe journey. I'm proud of you for doing what felt right to you, even though you are sad to leave the UK. It wouldn't have been a good thing to marry someone you weren't sure about just to continue living here. Of course, you can come and visit me oop norf any time. It's nice up here, and close to Scotland, so we can go party in Edinburgh for a weekend.  :) Best of luck to you, babs!  :-*

I feel like I have to chime in here too and say "good for you" for listening to your gut and doing what you felt was right.  You are a very courageous woman, and I admire you for being true to yourself.

I've tried to write something on here for the past five minutes, but I keep deleting it because I feel like the words aren't coming across right.

I s'pose I'll say words can't express how amazingly strong you are for listening to yourself and making the choice that is best for you and your child.

I do believe that everything happens for a reason. And I have so much respect for you.

Have safe travels back.
