Hypo-allergenic Baby Formula
« on: August 09, 2004, 10:19:33 PM »
What types of hypo-allergenic baby formula are available in England?  Where can I get them?  I have been supplementing my 6 wk old with Nutramigen (by enfamil); is that available?  I am not ready to try the switch to soy or any other formula based on a pure milk protein.

Can't believe we are moving over in 10 days!!!  (as soon as little one gets 8 wk/ 2 mos shots).

Here are the 2 most popular Baby Milk producers:

http://www.smanutrition.co.uk
http://www.cowandgate.co.uk

Another readily available baby milk is Farley's, but I can't find their website. They are owned by Heinz, but I don't see Baby info on the Heinz website.

We use SMA and have had great success with it. I kow that they make several "special needs" formulas, but many of them are only available by prescription. Your best bet is to bring loads of your current stuff, then register with your GP and they will send a Health Visitor out to visit you at home (or you can go to the weekly  Health Visitor clinic most GP offices hold) - and they can get you on track to finding an appropriate formula.
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!
