But as a person who lived in the Denver/Boulder area for 8 years, I think you're crazy to want to swap that for London.
Can you say more? I know it's all relative and everyone's tastes are different, but that's very interesting to hear. And geographically at least, you're among the few that have been where I have *and* where I want to be.
Thanks for all the welcomes, everyone! I'm back to laying low for the time being, looking around the house thinking "how am I ever going to get rid of all of this?!" The decision is starting to make the rounds in our families and around my work, so the fervor is settling down some. I don't know how I'm going to survive until 2012! I've been advised by my wife that we are not moving until she finishes school (Dec. 2011), so I have to be patient - which I'm not good at! Not at all
I've also decided to keep a detailed record of the journey on my blog (
http://justin.trout.name). Mostly for myself, to keep my thoughts in one place to look back at in the years to come. And something to remind me why I did this when I'm homesick! But if anything in it helps someone down the line, that's great too.
