I read that along with the comments.

Someone said and i agree with the European way, if I understand it correctly, that the price stated is the price you pay.

Many foreign tourists to the US feel they are ripped off when they count their change, after making a purchase, and see they were charged more and received less change due to the sales tax.

When I look at my monthly phone bill here in the US it states that my cost for the land line phone is $12 per month but my bill is $23 per month. That's almost double. Why? because of taxes.

If everyone jumped on the band wagon what would happen? Buy petrol £.70 per litre so the cost of a fill is £4 but then you have to pay £10 to cover the taxes. My numbers maybe off but I think you get my point.
