I doubt very much that you can get a refund from the airline in these circumstances. In fact the airline can be fined for allowing someone without an approriate visa/funds/ticket etc to be on the flight which makes it seem even more unlikely.

hey cheer up at least you've got your visa now and you'll be back soon enough; have a look at cheapflights.com, you might be able to find a bargain flight on there

I believe prices go wayyyyyy down after the 1st of September, if you can wait that long!!!!  Do you or anyone you know have airmiles?  Virgin does miles and money tickets, maybe BA does too!

I fly Virgin all the time and I am apart of their Flying Club which earns you miles every time you fly.

Unfortunately, the prices don't look like their dropping after 1 September. I've been looking to fly out on 7 September but the prices aren't looking that great.

However I have found that the best days to fly out on are Tuesday's and Wednesday's for good prices on flights. Seems to be cheaper when you fly in the middle of the week.

I used to fly BA all the time too Shala, until I found how much cheaper flights were through VA and that it's the same quality of service.

It is almost always cheaper to fly in the middle of the week.  It makes a big difference.  What I did was typed in a search for dates (and, of course, where I was travelling from and to) in AOL travel, and it came up with a list for me of different options and airlines that I could choose from.

You know Shala I had a look at BA's prices and this was me  :o there flights are almost a hundred dollars more expensive than Virgin's. I think I will stay with trying to get a flight through Virgin, BA is a little too pricey...I don't have the kind of money I used to have when I first started traveling to the UK LoL!!

 ;D Missy  :-*

You know, I wanted to fly Virgin ( since that's the airline that Jamie had used to come and see me in the States...and he had liked it) when I came over here....but BA turned out to be quite a bit cheaper (their toothbrushes are kind of strange :o ::) LOL....but, oh well).  But, I know....it's always based on times and stuff.  That was then (4 months ago)....this is, obviously....now.

True the first time I flew BA was rather on the cheap side, only $600 ish. Then my next flight was Virgin for about the same....my last Virgin flight was the most expensive because it was dead in the middle of summer. So I paid almost $850 for a flight from 21 June - 7 July.

Right now, flights through Virgin are looking about $715 flying out on 7 September out of OIA of course. I've been looking for cheaper deals but haven't found anything yet. I have some time though to keep looking as I'm still at home waiting for my husband's package to arrive to me with all of his details and proof to send to the consulate. It's only 10:25 a.m. here and the mail usually doesn't show until between noon and one o'clock. Though I hope it gets here quite quickly, I want to get going before the storms hit this afternoon.

Ta ta....

 [smiley=daisy.gif]  <-- cute huh!
OMG y all are KILLING ME laughing. I need to laugh and you are such wondeful lovelies.HAHAH.. Okay i guess cos i am coming from  LOSANGELES maybe that may make it more expensive either way huh.

Missy, u live in FLORIDA dont trip. If i lived there i am sure it would not be so much m oney. EVEN though.. 715 ish sounds wack for that close to the UK. but i guess they all are greed wort mongers taking our money.

OH YEAH hey.. When i flew to England the first time . My ticket was an amazing 549.00 for a nonstop flight. I was like this  :o ;D and snatched that baby right up. That was great. I went for 5 days too. and it didnt cost that much. why come  ( i say that a lot whycome) it cost  MORE to stay longer. It aint like i am on the plane longer.  It aint like the food is that good ( better than most i tasted ) or the seats are That much more comfy on my longer stay!

 LOL
 :)

Always have to fly BA because it's cheapest and direct from Phoenix.. best price I ever got was $239 round trip ;)  Flew Virgin once because I had no other option.. service was decent but my bag was ripped up and I had to fly on a moment's notice so was $1300 with an EIGHT HOUR layover in Newark.. neverrrrrrr againnnnnnn
