Shipping small items US to UK
« on: March 22, 2010, 04:53:40 PM »
Looking for best suggestions on US --> UK shipping of small-medium size flat items (framed prints/paintings and less than a dozen books) as well as other small-medium size objet d’art.

We’re selling everything else before the move, but there are going to be probably 3-4 boxes of these sentimental/important items we are choosing to take with us. Mum will store for us at her place.

Thought we’d mail 1 box a fortnight to ease the cost. At this point in time, no pressing time issues.

USPS? UPS? FedEx? Other?

Thank you!

Try Upakweship - they have pretty reasonable rates for shipping small amounts of stuff to the UK.  THere is insurance even if you are packing - but you have to pay extra if you want them to pack it and insure it.  You can also buy better boxes online if you look for international shipping boxes to help protect if you pack it yourself.
