E-L-I-Z-A-B-E-T-H !!!!!!!! your FRIEND ;) might be interested in that thread about online couples that was going a while ago, I am trying desperately to find it and will post the link for you when I do.

We met on a site called killermontstreet.com, which was designed by Stu for singer songwriter Roddy Frame - so not a dating site. From memory most people who posted on the other thread had met through sites of general interest rather than "dating" sites as such.

That other thread was very interesting reading!

I've found a nice place to meet interesting people called MakeFriendsOnline.com.  Lots of people there for lots of different reasons, going by their profiles, from fun, friendship, to serious relationships and marriage!

I've met two very nice fellows there, one that has all the makings of a friendship, the other that may be something else!  If things keep ticking along as they have been, we will spend a short amount of time together in November to see how things "feel" in person.

DH and I met on ICQ...totally random....I'd used it about 3 times and didn't even have my own account (used my roommate's computer)...  I'd  been to England the summer before and just limited the search to UK people for some reason...his was the first profile to pop up...I said hi..he said hi... and we fell in love (eventually!).

Dunno if that'll help your, uh, friend...but you just never know!   ;D

We met in MSN Chat a little over 4 years ago. I thought he was someone else and sent him a private message or "whispered" him, as it was called, and we started chatting and it went from there. :P

For us it was a brief meeting in a very general yahoo chat room...lead to running into each other a few more times...exchanging icq numbers....and almost seven years later....I will be there and we will be married. Yea I know we really rush things!! ;)
