I think Match.com is here too, Matchmaker.com as well.  Let your "Friend" know :P

I met Richard at a wedding of two people who met on Matchmaker.

Is there an equivalent to match.com over here in the UK?  Seems like something like that would be right up your, uh, friend's alley!

Well, from what she's found out, there's loads of match/singles/dating sites out there, and been very very disappointed... so the idea of searching out places of mutual interest is much more intriguing... so I think she'll try that; perhaps online and in person...

I met my hubby when I answered a random ICQ message while chatting online to my dad. I didnt realize I was in open chat mode. I just quickly answered this message from Franky in England. We ended up chatting and emailing and then webcamming.

March 1985 issue of Smash Hits.  Paul King was on the cover...if anyone else remembers him.  ;)

I know there are some happy endings from dating sites but I joined a few when I was single but had no luck, although I went on a couple of dates and those sites do attract some real wierdoes, you have to be VERY careful.  I think it is better just to pursue your interests and you are bound to come across like minded people.  Good luck to your friend! :)

I met mine on ...Everquest.  An online computer game for those that don't know. He was a wizard and I was a rogue.  ::)

I'm not really one to play computer games in the first place, this was my one and only - just happened it was particularly addicting. But it's basically a huge chat room.

We've both since quit playing and I don't really recommend it ;P It can become quite the timesink. Although I can't complain.. Somehow I got very lucky because I've never been happier.. and the last thing we want to be doing when we are together is play computer games  ;D but we can both embrace our 'geeky' side a little because we can't really deny how we met :P

I panicked though for a moment, til I reread... Paul King was on the cover, your hubby was in the back... thought for a sec you married Paul King!

Now... what was your hubby doing in the back of the mag?

Anything 80's????  I know it ALL... well, pretty much

;D I met Jimmy on an online video game called Phantasy Star Online... I must admit I used to be addicted to it... not only did you get to kill monsters to get rid of your stress... you got to gab with other video game geeks... funny thing is first time I met Jimmy I thought he was a girl... the character he was playing as was a female and never thought to ask his real name that day... but I felt we would be great friends... next time we played I found out he was male and not a young kid... and then I understood the click I felt the first day... it was love before the week was out... for the 2 of us ;D
It's the difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

Lipstick? Where woman? There is no lipstick!
She wasn't kissing your lips my darling

What's it gonna be Merv?
Interesting deal
She'll do it. If she has to kill everyone in this room. She'll do it. She's in love.
*sigh*
It's amazing how the path of love is so alike to the path of insanity

2gether 4ever Jo & Jimmy

We met on a site called killermontstreet.com, which was designed by Stu for singer songwriter Roddy Frame - so not a dating site.

Good taste in music - I knew there was a reason I like you, Liz!  ;)

Jamie and I win the "most embarrassing" site award, I think... Kiss.com.  [smiley=blush.gif] It's a wonder I'm even willing to admit it!!!!
