Thank you!!!  I was so drained when I read the e-mail I thought I was reading it wrong!  haha.  It feels so nice to be done.  This visa doesn't even scare me at this point...at least I know exactly what needs to be there and I'm pretty much the one deciding my fate!  haha.  Hope yours is going well too syntax30!

Well, I am pretty pleased right now, for once.  I sent my usual bothering-the-loans-guy email today but this time they said that they'd send my loan letter tomorrow, in the first batch of letters to go out, and I'd receive it Tuesday week at the latest.  Yay!

You must order the in-person service on the WorldBridge web site, which costs $100 I believe.  There's more information in this thread but the web site will be of most help: https://www.visainfoservices.com/Pages/Welcome.aspx

Yeah, the Premium service can be purchased separately but you should book your biometrics first because you can't do the premium service until after 24 hours has lapsed from your biometrics.  I talked to a woman at the consulate yesterday about it.  Just make sure you book the biometrics first and then wait 24 hours for the premium appointment, and keep all of your receipts.

Hey y'all,

Just wanted to drop in some good news. Got my financial aid letter in the mail today, and got my CAS number via e-mail yesterday!

Now it is on to the visa woes, but at least this step is done.

I'd wait, because you'll be out 335 bucks if it was somehow lost in the mail.

Hey thanks. Let me tell u so far this visa part has been the most stressful and anxious part of the whooole process...to me anways.. I didnt expect it to be this bad but its been a rough week!!

I made a post in visa's about priority service (Which i did and regret so far). I would do the premium service if i could re-do all this. So unless u have no choice id do the premium option.

I read pickles post about her doing priority sending in monday getting her visa sent back tuesday...so i thought thats what ill do!! Well i sent it in last monday (arrived tuesday at 10am) didnt even get a email from them until 2;30 pm wednesday (48 hour processing mind you) and well its saturday now and i havent heard anything. So hopefully ill hear something come monday!!

Im guessing they are just really backed up at the NY consulate due to end of july/summer rush. I really hoped to have this all done by wed/thur max...def frustrated, the unease continues!!. The bad thing is the more time it takes, the longer the wait, the more i think what if i messed up or my uni did, and all those other fears and worst case scenarios!! This whole process has been very stressful from start to present, were all going through it!!

It sucks having your life in someone elses hands! Priority service def hasnt worked the way i thought it would. I just cant wait for us all to be over in the UK, and all this a distant memory!! Hopefully be able to have a pint and laugh about all this, as the new stress of school enters!! hhhaha

Goodluck to all of you!! and glad u finally got your letter kbee!! after all that u deserve it!!

Thanks syntax30!  I hope things will go smoothly from you starting tomorrow.  I was told my letter was being sent last Monday from my uni and I still haven't gotten it...I'm hoping to get it soon.  I have completed my appendix 8 and online application, paid the $318, made the biometric appointment for this Thursday and am waiting until I get this letter to make the premium appointment in NYC for sometime hopefully during the week of the 8th.  I can't wait to be on that plane!  haha.

I have been passing my time ironically enough in an English pub near my house where all of the staff is from UK here on visa for their degrees, and they were complaining to me about how difficult it is to get an America visa as well.  haha.  I guess it goes both ways, but it was nice to commiserate over a nice pint!

;D Yes! After all the stress I FINALLY have my letter in hand. but there is a problem, Ive talked to my school bc my CAS says the same thing and they said they fixed it on my CAS but now my letter also says it. Somehow they completely messed up my bday it says 13 july 1981 when it should be 31 july 1987. Will this be a problem?

I could see that as being a problem, but as long as your CAS matches up with your passport, then maybe it will be fine.  I don't think my loans letter had my date of birth on it though...Jut the amounts that I was going to be receiving and the dates that they were going to be disbursed.  Maybe if you ask on the Visas & Immigration board you will get a better answer though, as I'm not much help on that...

Well, I am not happy.  Last Tuesday, the loans person at my school emailed me to say my loan letter would be mailed on Wednesday, and I would receive it the next Tuesday (8/3) at the latest.  No letter yesterday, so I emailed him.  There was a problem so they haven't even created the letter yet.  Did anyone bother telling me this?  Of course not.  So now they say they can get it to me by next Tuesday, but I really don't believe them anymore.  Even if I do get it by next Tuesday, that's really too late, I need it this week!  I cannot believe this process is STILL dragging on..  I thought July 1 was going to be quite late, but now it hasn't even been sorted by August 1.  Argh!  >:(
