USA Visa Recvd, once activated question...
« on: April 15, 2010, 08:44:33 PM »
Brit husband recevied USA Immigration Visa Jan 26, 2010 (whoot whoot)...6 months to move (by July 26, 2010), house not sold yet (grrr)...once his Visa in USA is activated, can he return to the UK, for a few days to say finish up house sale if needed???  More than likely he wont need to come back as if house not sold by time we have to leave we are giving power of attorney to Estate agent.  I just like to know all the options.

Many thanks!
Laura

Yep - he will be allowed to come and go unlimited times (with the caveat that he can't spend too much time out of the country or he will be considered to abandon his permanent residency status)

A trip or two back for a few days will not be an issue.

It'll be easier once he gets here and receives his actual green card though. He'll even be able to go thru the US immigration line at the airport!  ;D

Thank you Mops!  I didnt think it would be an issue, but its nice having it comfirmed, thanks!  Usual rule of thumb I have known is, your residency country you spend over 6 months/over 50% of the year in.

We fly American Airlines from Heathrow into LAX, because they have their own terminal & means we avoid the LA International term, so Immigration has always been a breeze thankgoodness!

Thanks! ;D
