Oh no! I'm sorry you were forced to change your plans... I hope you didn't have too many deposits made already, eek!

Maybe you can book in at the same hotel once you're all moved over for a nice weekend away? Brighton is particularly nice in the summertime.

November.

We don't know precisely when, and we have no idea where yet, but it'll be a small, simple ceremony.  We may or may not have a casual, family reception.

The recent and threatened changes for settlement visas have got us kind of paranoid about spending any more money than necessary.  So, while we'd always intended to keep things small and simple, we're definitely thinking smaller and simpler than before.

But, the way I see it, even if I don't get exactly the wedding I'd wanted... I'm getting a better husband than anyone could hope for.

Ok... I'm done being soppy. :)

Getting married mid October in Sale (Manchester). It will be a Register Office ceremony with bride, groom and 2 witnesses :)

Oh wow that sounds amazing!! I have a friend who (at the age of 30-something) he and his wife sold their house, put their stuff into storage and the cats with his parents, and took an adult "gap year" to travel around the world. They still talk about it 5 years later and haven't regretted it for a second. They didn't have any problems getting back onto the housing ladder (they wanted to move anyway!) or getting into their careers again when they came back, either.

I'm thoroughly jealous!

That sounds awesome! I really hope we can do it in the next couple of years but first I will have to get settled in the UK and that will take a good chunk out of our traveling funds. It will be done one way or another :)

September is just around the corner. Is everything ready for the wedding? I am sure it will be a beautiful wedding and wish you the best.

Congratulations! I had a small wedding as well at a Registers Office. There was only 7 of us and to be honest, I loved it that way.
My husband is from Manchester, I will be moving over next June. It will be nice to meet other people around the area :)

If....IF things go according to plan (which THEY WILL) we will be getting married in Dec in York. Small ceremony and dinner after with some of her close friends. We're probably going to plan a bigger event later (probably in 2012) for our friends and family...but for now we're just trying to get me over there.

I love York :)

Lol, I never thought I'd get married, but wadda know, it's happening!

December 29th, outdoors in the Smoky Mountain National Park. No wedding dress or tuxedo because we gotta hike to our location, we chose a hiking minister specially so that we would have a remote beautiful wild place we could revisit in years to come.
