US Breakfast Sausage
« on: April 28, 2010, 02:11:51 PM »
Im wanting to make a dish for a brunch that we are going to but it requires breakfast sausage like in the US (Jimmy Dean, etc.). From what I have found, this is unavailable here but I was wondering if I could get ground pork and just add the seasoning to make it the same. I did a search on here but I couldnt find anything. Does anyone know how to do this?

There's quite a few threads about that already.  If you check out the link below, there is some information there and at least 3 links to other threads on the subject also (they tell you were you can find something similar and there are also recipes to make it homemade).

You can google Jimmy Dean copycat recipes and come up with something. I don't have mine with me, but I found recipes for regular sausage, hot, sage and maple sausages online. You could use sausagemeat or pork mince and add some seasonings. It's dead easy, and even healthier and tastier, I think, as you can control how much salt, etc. that goes into it.
