Oh it's fizzy!! I had no idea! I think the "ade" at the end was throwing me off :-)

They have both kinds! Sports version (non fizzy and good) and Energy version (fizzy and YUM!)

It's the opposite for me because, in the UK usually anything with 'ade' at the end is fizzy... lemonade, cherryade, orangeade, limeade, Lucozade. If I didn't already know what Gatorade was, I would automatically assume that it was fizzy because all the other 'ade' drinks I know are :P.

Yeah most of it is not fizzy (therefore not an issue of drinking fizzy drinks after working out) but there are a few flavours that have fizz added.  I don't drink them as a sports drink...I just like the way they taste and they do seem to boost my energy (which could all be psychological, who knows?) so I just fancy one every now and then instead of water.

It is actually...because in the UK they use a combination of sugar and an artificial sweetner and in the US they use high fructose corn syrup...this is also the reason why your major sodas like Coke & Pepsi taste different Sugar in the UK vs. HFCS in the US.
Yeah, DS says he can get Mexican Coke in NYC which tastes like the British product.

You can also get kosher Coke which is also not make with HFCS.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Super late but I saw Lucozade in the Brooklyn Fairway, along with Jaffa cakes, marmite and various other British food.  It's expensive, though, and I don't remember exactly how much it cost.  And it's only helpful if you're local to NYC--dunno if the Manhattan, Long Island or Paramus locations would also stock it.

Well the fizzy stuff has caffeine, so that probably explains that.   ;)

The non-fizzy "Sport" version has artificial sweeteners and I'm not a big fan.  All the British sports drinks seem to, so I guess I am sticking with Gatorade.

Kiki's Market in Brighton (MA) carries many British and Irish products, but UKC hubby and I like to take a ride to British Delights in Westford, MA.  They have the best and biggest selection I've seen...not to mention some of the best prices I've seen (for example, a 40 count PG Tips is about $3 and Lucozade is about $1.50).

If you can't get to their store, they are online and ship items (www.britishdelights.com).  However, if you are able to go to them, they have a 50% off section as well!   ;D

I saw Lucozade in a shop today!  It was Rodman's (http://www.rodmans.com/) -- I went there to get squash and barley water.  One bottle is $5.49, but it was a pretty big bottle.  Still, too expensive for me.

The same place had kegs of Newcastle Brown Ale!  Never seen that before ;D

Rodman's has a few locations in the Washington, DC area.

We had tins of Spotted Dick in our local supermarket for a long time.  There was this tiny shelf that had tons of British products.. Heinz baked beans, etc.  I tried to explain to my dh that Spotted Dick had nothing to do with STDs but he kept snickering and saying he couldn't eat that.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…
