We have an appointment at the embassy today to renew the 9 year old's passport.  Does anyone have any recommendations for where we can go to eat afterwards?  Both girls are fairly good eaters.  Mr Red5 wants to go for sushi, I was thinking trying either the Hard Rock or Texas Embassy.  However, the 9 year old doesn't handle long waits very well.
Our appointment at the embassy is at 4 so I'm assuming that we will be out by 6.
Thank you!  :)

I would advise against Hard Rock if your child can't stand waiting.  I can't either!  I tried to go to  Hard Rock last summer around this time on a Friday and people were queuing up down the street waiting to get in.  Needless to say, we gave up!

If you are looking for that sort of American food, there is a TGI Fridays in Covent Garden.  I've never been in London, but it's good in the US.  There might be a wait there as well though.  I think you might find it hard to find somewhere on a Friday without a wait, but you can probably find a place where you don't have to wait too long.  There is also a place called The Diner in Soho.  I've been to the one in Camden and it was really good.  It reminded me of an authentic American diner.

I think TGI Fridays is good here. Texas Embassy and Hard Rock are awful!!!! There are a ton of places to eat around there so you should be able to find something for everyone.

Thanks ladies  :)
As long as we eat out the girls will be happy.  We rarely eat out due to cost so it is a real treat!

Along North Audley Street there are a number of restaurants if you don't want to have to go too far after you've finished at the Embassy.  There is Truc Vert which is casual and sort of French and then several Italian restaurants including Prezzo which is a chain.  A couple of the others are called La Genova and La Caricatura which is  pizza place I think.  On South Audley there is a Cafe Rouge.  There are also a ton of restaurants on James Street and St. Christopher's Place near Selfridges.  Most of them have outside seating with heat lamps.
