I have to admit I record it every week so I can watch it when Mr A is doing his weekly computer maintenance and I am not allowed to touch the computer for like 12 hours.  I like it but I am actually finding that it's becoming a bit repetitive. I found the "Bad Reputation" one almost unbearable to watch. Maybe it was PMS or something, but I almost took it off record. Mostly I've enjoyed it though.

Its a shame really, I really really wanted to love Glee, but I was really disappointed with it and really dislike it. I love the idea of it, but for me, the execution isn't as good. I sort of watch it if its on, just to see if I can get drawn in, but it just isn't doing it for me! I want to love it, but I just can't!!!!!!!!

I'm the same way. I watched the first couple and catch bits and pieces here and there... but I just can't quite get into it. I might watch tonight... Neil Patrick Harris is on and that might be amusing.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I'm a total gleek.  ;D I was in drama club when I was in high school, and the show brought back lots of memories for me. Plus, the boys are cute, and I love the one-liners. It gets recorded on the DVR(the thing's a life saver!), and I watch it when I get in from work. Singing along helps me de-stress. :)

I think I watch it for Sue and Brittany's one-liners. The storyline isn't particularly great, the songs are overdone, everything is overly cheesy, but I still find it somewhat addictive. Plus, anything is better than working on my dissertation!  :P

Sue is the lynchpin of the show. Seriously.  ;D

But if I were Lady Gaga, heads would roll: I would DEMAND a Madonna level episode. That was the worst episode.

But then, I think there was no Sue. That could explain it.  ;)

I try to like it.  But, the auto-tune kills me.  I know some of the kids can't really sing all that well (*ahem* Finn) but some of them really can.  Also, I think their voices would sound better without all the crap.  Having heard Chris sing live 5 nights a week for years, I know that his real voice is way better than the over-produced sound that the show produces.  I thought he was unrecognizable on Defying Gravity.  Plus, each episode seems to revolve around some story line of everyone ganging up on and being mean to some other character ad nauseum.

That being said, I still watch the show on occasion and I thought the finale was pretty cute.  And I think the Sue character is really funny and has some great one-liners.

Yeah, this is what put me off watching the show... I saw the first episode, but the dubbing of the voices with all the studio extras was too much - it made the show seem false and too cheesy :(.

It's cheesy, it's imperfect, but it's fun.  I love it.  Brittany is my favorite.  I had a cold and I took all my antibiotics at the same time and I forgot how to leave.   :D

That's exactly how I feel about it, I surrender to it because it's so charming. The characterisation can be inconsistent, the endless autotune, the reverb when singing acapella, ho yes, but none of it stops it being funny, touching and seriously fun.

Britney is my fave too, the actress is a professional dancer and has no acting experience, she did Single Ladies with Beyonce at the AMAs (and on tour) and was brought in to teach them that dance but they asked her to join the cast -

I have huge respect for dancers, her figure is sick! They do a really good job of putting her with the guys or trying to balance her out with camera angles as she really sticks out next to the girls as she's so tall and in shape.

Holy cow! DId you see some of those moves she was doing with those heels on that slick stage?! I was so scared someone would fall and do the lethal split fall! Eeps!

I LOVE Glee! I think it's a fun show. The stories aren't the most compelling, but that's really secondary to the singing/performing. I enjoy seeing a show of fairly normal kids who (aside from the Quinn preggers storyline) aren't doing drugs, drinking, killing people, in gangs, cussing, robbing liquor stores or whatever else kids do these days! It's just fun, happy entertainment. I always end up singing and bopping along. I even bought the newest Glee CD yesterday ($6.99 at Barnes and Noble!) I think it's totally different from anything else on tv right now which is what makes it even more fun. :) Can't wait (already!) till season 2. I got a tweet from Glee (yesssss... I follow them on twitter- and Finn, too! And the kid in the wheelchair who's not really in a wheelchair!) that John Stamos is already planned for an episode next season. Maybe he'll be dating the red-haired teacher (I'm so bad with their names if I'm not actually watching. Odd.) ;D
