UK: Olympic mascots unveiled
« on: May 19, 2010, 08:13:06 PM »
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Teletubbies gone horribly wrong?
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Hm. "one eyed monster" is what came to mind, if you know what I mean! Is the camera eye representing all the CCTVs in London? ;D

The mascots, conceived by London design agency Iris and costing, said Deighton, just "a few thousand pounds", are an important staging post from a financial and marketing point of view.

Well, phew.

Droplets of steel that made the stadium?  Somebody was waaay overthinking the problem.  Just pick some cuddly animal or bird or something, dress it like a beefeater and be done with it!   ;)

W......  T......   F..... !!!!

I BET,

Schools and colleges will be allowed to let some of their students in for free
There'll be a surge in OAP homes booking Olympic days out..  for free...
Anyone working who's booked a day off will be let in to the stadiums...   for free.....

anything....  to make it 'look like' these Olympics will be a 'success' for London/UK!

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK

They kinda remind me of Muno from Yo Gabba Gabba: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa69/djrobotmonster/YoGabbaGabba_PressImage.jpg

Which is scary.  :-X

Which part? The fact that it looks like Muno or the fact that you know what Yo Gabba Gabba is and the characters? ;)

Both actually.

Even scarier: I don't have kids and I know the characters to Yo Gabba Gabba?  [smiley=end.gif]
