I'm in the West Midlands just outside Wolverhampton....Been here almost 2 years in the process of applying for my permanent settlement visa. I grew up in Jersey City....Just across the river from Manhattan. I would love to open a lil spanish bodega....with some tables in the back to play dominoes and serve chuletas.....Made some sofrito recently came out pretty good not as good as Abuela....Hope all goes well with the Visa.....I'm Mike by the way....

Not sure how easy it is to open up a business....Got my visa in just over 2 weeks I applied while my wife and I were living in the states...In the process of applying for my permanent settlement visa..I flew to P.R. last year for my sisters wedding....Don't get back as often as I would like as flights have been expensive...My mom will be flying over this summer, will be nice to see a familiar face....Hope all goes well with your visa....

hi, i would love to know how is it for Latinos in the UK, i been living in south Florida for 3 years and I'm a permanent resident, not citizen, and even though moving to the UK will mean loosing my green card i will get to be with the man i love, my only worry is how hispanics are perceived in the UK, living in south Florida makes it really easy, even though i don't have the typical Latina look, but i think that's the only thing that worries me sometimes, also the culture, i love my food and coffee ... i even got my boyfriend in coffee drinker lol now i have to send him coffee every 2 months !!!

Oh man, what I wouldn't give for a proper cortadito right now and I miss my friend's coffee, with loads of sugar and super strong- it's like liquid crack. I hack at making it, but I am sooooooo not good at it.
(I'm not latino, but lived in SF for 5 years)

I'm like you I dont really look latino....I haven't had any problems just a comment or two when they hear my last name....Most people are very nice and welcoming....There are a few Tapas bars where you can get some latino food. Cafe con leche is hard to come by, I make it myself ...Love my strong coffee....
