Hi all,
i've actually posted this over at DIA as well which seems a great site but has kind of low traffic so i thought id post here too since I have done plenty of my research here too.
I've actually looked over a lot of posts and whilst I couldnt find anything that fit exactly with my circumstances, it looks as though things should work out for me and my husband.
However, being the hypercondriac that I am, Im looking for some advice from someone with a bit more experience of such matters.
Basically our situation is very simple:
I am a US citizen by birth who has been living in the united Kingdom for 2 1/2 years. I hold an ILR Visa. My husband is a UK citizen by birth. We currently live in rented accomadtion in the United Kingdom.
We have applied via DCF I-130 and are now awaiting stage 2. The only part that concerns me is the I-864 and the proof of where we are going to live.
I will not under any circumstances be travelling to the USA before or without my Husband. We will travel together with around $20,000 of savings and no other assetts. Upon arrival in the USA we intend to live with My Mother and Step-Father. My Step-Father has agreed to be a co-sponsor, he is currently earning approximately $45,000 a year and including myself and my husband would be supporting a household of 4. My Mother also has an income, but I figure she wont need to be an additional sponsor.
So I guess my main point of concern are:
- Will it matter that my own I-864 will be pretty empty and sad
- Will it be any problem for my Step-Father to be the full sponsor
- Will it be a problem that we intend to move in with my parents.
Any input and advice would be welcomed, and I apologise in advance if you've read this type of thing 100 times before.
Thanks,
Jellybean
