How long do dry pantry items last?

I actually do keep a running list on my ipod touch! Occasionally, I get inspired at the store and can't remember at that point if I have a certain ingredient or not. Also, since I usually go to the store after work, I can't just check the pantry before I go. Oh well. It's all solved now. I cleaned it out! Hopefully it's a step towards moving out of here at the end of the summer...
