I would be thrilled with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
My pick in DH's work football pool - Spain.

Definitely USA all the way.  I plan on making a spectacle of myself at my local (they have guaranteed my safety ;) )

I actually hope it's a draw, we're going to Chicago in 10 days and it would be nice to be able to watch both USA and England play while we're there.

Oh, and can I just say...

WELL DONE BLACKHAWKS!

LOL Cute!

I feel I am expected to suport the USA but when you don't follow it either way its just a band wagon.  I mine as well make it fun! As I head out Saturday night to local put sans DH I am wearing my brown cowboy boots, jeans, american t-shirt and for sh$ts and giggles might bring my stetson.  They want ya to support your home country, mine as well do it right!  ;D

LOL! I'm just hoping the locals don't decide to sacrifice the yankee to the football gods....  ;)

I'm going to an all-day BBQ with the hubs.  It's with a bunch of his work mates (so mostly male die-hard footie fans).  I will be one of few women there and the only non-English person.  I think the "being 8 months pregnant" thing will protect me from being killed if the US wins.

I should hope so! ;D

I may be in the US and may be a USC, but for me, it's England all the way!  I would give the US a ton of kudos if they go through, but that's not where my heart is when it comes to football. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

No divided loyalties.  USA all the way.  I like the gentle English mockery and tell them that they will be all the more embarrassed when England bottle it on Saturday.  My birthday was this week and my BF even tried to find me a USA football top.  No luck!!!!

We are heading to a party for the game. There will be 3 USA supporters (2 Americans and my Scottish Bf) amongst 20 people.  I can't wait.  And we are bringing 7 layer dip. Yum!

You could probably get one quite easily in Scotland or Wales! ;)

As an adopted Scot I can't abide the England team (in any sport :P), so I'll generally be supporting whoever plays against them... unless it's Argentina of course!

I'm with ya on that Super! And on that note, the future hubs told me that I was required to cheer for the Rangers or we might have to break up.  ;D

Dh works in the North Sea on a rig and tomorrow has been deemed American day with "American" food and party (well as much as a party as you can on a rig).
They are having t-shirts made company wide that say ABE = Anybody But England since it is mostly Scottish people on the rig.  Poor DH had to scramble to find a red sweatshirt to support England.

I did ask for him to bring me home one - he said no lol

I have divided loyalties for many reasons. My MIL invited me over to watch the game on BIL's shiny new 60'' plasma (BIL lives at home). Estranged DH won't be there :-( I guess I will go, it sure beats watching it on my own.
BTW I have only watched 90 minutes worth of World Cup action and the vuvuzelas, as much of a treasured national instrument as they may be...are doing my nut...
Good things come to those who wait...a really long time.

Yes, me too!  It's like a hornet's nest constantly droning in the background.

Maybe someone should add a "who are you rooting for" poll to this thread?  ;D

I lasted about 20 minutes of the Confederations Cup with the damn vuvuzelas. I'll be watching the entire World Cup on mute. Bonus is that I then don't have to listen to the irritating commentary either!

Should I fly my American flag today or am I asking for trouble?

I think you would be asking for trouble personally :)
