Oh man, I was so mad! And I'm even madder that I don't know anything about football, so I was really even more frustrated until I figured out that no one else understood the ref's decision either. Booo! We should've won that! But, I am so proud of the way the USA played in the second half of the game. It showed a lot of heart.

Now my attention can go to England. Goooo England!!!!  ;D

The entire world is confused about that call, so you are not alone.  Would have been nice to win but moving forward it is all Wednesday, if we win, we are in! Go USA!

Why in the world are the USA and England game on at the same time....We will be fighting over swapping back and forth on the TV unless I can tune the game on the computer as well.  This might make me figure out PIP on this tv!

a number of years ago Germany* played a game in a way to help out the Austrian* friends since they knew what was needed for both teams to advance or not hit each other or something along those lines.  Fifa can't mandate people play "hard" so they play the final game of the groups at the same time so the teams don't know the outcome of the other game.  Head to a pub that can show two games at once, that is what we are doing.

*I think it was Germany and Austria though don't quote me on that.

Oh just give them a cider or two, they'll be fine  ;) ;)  You can find links that are streaming it on the link I provided below (in case you don't know where to look)

If we win, an England win will be good for us, as it will put us top of the group. Assuming Germany wins their game over Ghana, we'll miss having to play Germany.  Enjoy the BBQ!

It was, in 1982, Algeria had beaten Germany in their opening game, a 1 or 2 goal win for Germany against Austria would take both through, a bigger win saw Austria out on GD, a draw or Austria win would see Germany out, so Germany played hard to get the goal and then both packed it!

I'll probably bring the other TV down from upstairs and both games on!

Thanks Tykeman, I knew it had to do with Germany (though I guess it would be West Germany I would guess) and Austria but couldn't remember the specifics, cheers!

exactly, right assuming that there isn't a bigger goal difference for England ;-)  Though we (USA) just need to win to be honest!
