People were crying?! Oh honestly....

I'm from Northeast Ohio and this story has somehow managed to dominate everything I see on Facebook today, lol. I think it was fairly popular all over the state. I just wonder if they're going to spend tons of money to have it rebuilt or if that 'He'll be back' sign was supposed to mean the actual return.

Surely they shouldn't rebuild it, lightning is an act of god so I guess he didn't like it and wanted to get rid of it!  ;D

Could they send some lightening towards this thing too, please? http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/05/us/05liberty.html

This is on the corner of a busy intersection near where I used to live in Memphis. The photograph doesn't capture exactly how huge and tacky the thing is!  :-X

I'm still over here in Southwest Ohio. It was huge news, and if you get a chance, the youtube videos are pretty hilarious.

Yes, they will rebuild it. Because apparently, a giant statue is more worthwhile than giving money to help our comminity  :-X

I think it is hilarious that this is a topic on UKY!

Well, I grew up in Cincinnati and felt the need to share.  ;D What's hilarious is my sister actually works at the Hustler Hollywood adult shop across the highway from it, and it was completely unscathed. God loves porn but not giant Jesus statues apparently!
