We literally had daily thunderstorms in the summer back in the US and I miss it so much.  The best part was the temp would easily drop 10+ degrees afterwards.

Yes!

Oh, I miss thunderstorms, too! In Cleveland, they were a common feature from spring through till autumn. Then I moved to Switzerland, where you'd get one now and again, but nothing like we had in Ohio. I had high hopes for getting them here in allegedly rainy Manchester, but they seem to be a rarity here, too.

Nothing quite as pleasant as curling up with a good book and a storm going on outside.

I miss Thunderstorms too! I find (at least here in South Manchester) we get TONS of hailstorms, they seem to take the place of thunderstorms!

I will swap for this 108 degree weather we are having and it should last for the next 3 months.

Thank goodness for air conditioning. :D

Just an update on the weather situation... it's still gorgeously hot and sunny here in Bristol - yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far with temps up in the high 70s/low 80s and barely any clouds at all.

Manchester is supposed to have temps in the mid-high 70s for the next few days, with sunshine and maybe a few showers here and there towards the end of the week (see here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/9).

I've really been loving the warm weather we are getting, but it does get a bit too hot in the mornings in our bedroom since the sun starts shining in the window at 4am or something ridiculous like that. It also makes me wake up several times between 4 and whenever I get up because I think it's later than it is and I'm late to work or have slept half the day away or something.  ::)

I am really tempted to get a fan for our room, but it was hard for me to break the addiction when I moved here and DH will hate it if I insist on having the thing on every night, even when it's cold. And believe me, I would do something like that. I slept with a fan on in Texas even during an ice storm! I love the white noise of it and the feeling of wind blowing on me, I just pile on more blankets.  :P

I have had ceiling fans put into all of our bedrooms, makes a huge difference when the weather gets warm. It just keeps the air moving around and the lulling is lovely.

Thunderstorms are rare there, good I live without those. Last time I was in Manc, it was early Oct and the weather was great, sunny warm, for that time of yr anyway.
