When I lived in the SF Bay Area (East Bay - Rockridge actually) I bought my coffee from Peaberry's Coffee & Tea. I love their Indian Sumatra & Mocha Java... I miss Peaberry :\\\'(. Though I did happen to stop by there last November on our way back to SFO to catch our flight home and it was as lovely as I remembered it to be...silly me didn't buy any beans as I wasn't sure I could get it through Customs.

The best place I found to get coffee in Oakland (that was right outside the BART station I got off on my way to work) was Chachie's... though from what I've read online it closed as of November 2007...kinda sad actually, at least they waited until after I had moved to the UK, they had killer Mocha's.

I think us Bay Area girls are spoiled for choice.  ;)  I got used to being resourceful when I lived in Alabama and Mississippi, so I figure if I found good coffee in the deep south I'm bound to find it anywhere.

I only lived in the Bay Area for 13 months...but I was a transplant from N.Cali (Redding Area) and they've got lovely coffee places there as well.

One of the best is YAKS (YetAnotherKoffeeShop) and they make their Mocha's with shaved chocolate bars! So it's heavenly...but my favorite place to get coffee EVER! is a tiny little drive thru called North Street Espresso, so tiny infact that the owner knows all her customers by the car that they drive and she has their coffee ready for them by the time you reach the window (there's not speaker ordering system) and she treats you to free coffee on your birthday!

Something to look forward too when we make it back to Cali for good.

Mmm Peets coffee. So yummy. When I'm in CA for work, its a must have.

Dippin Donuts! Yum!

I love too how when you go out to breakfast in the US you get the bottomless cup.  J is also a big fan of that!   :)

I'm in love with my Espressivo machine, and make cappuccino or latte nearly every morning. However, I don't do caffeine (it hates me), so I'm always in the market for some good decaf. Any suggestions? At the moment, I seem to alternate between Lavazza and Illy. On occasion, I add some gingerbread syrup if I'm feeling frisky! I also drink a ton of iced coffee in the summer and I have to admit that I tend to use instant for that. I make up a big jug of strong black coffee and just leave it in the fridge. Don't judge me!  :P

(I've tried Peets and think it's fine, but nothing special. Dunkin Donuts coffee, to me, is not very nice. It doesn't really taste coffee-ish to me.)

It's hot and I want an Iced Hazelnut from Dunkin' Donuts, which is obviously not entirely possible. :P

Anyone in here make their own iced coffee?  I'm considering it...

I don't, but I'm a tall skinny latte with sugar-free hazelnut Starbucks addict :/
Big treat for me, and it's only 68 calories :D Starbucks seem to be the only coffee place that does sugar-free syrup :(

I really like the Pico Duarte - http://www.whittard.co.uk/store/catalogue/Coffee-P3000/Single-Estate-Coffee-SC3003/Pico-Duarte-110957.raa single estate coffee from Whittards, it has an amazing milk chocolate taste to it, so smooth, I also like how you can order your grind from Whittards, as we were using a Cafetiere  but are now using a filter coffee maker (with a time so it can wake you up to fresh coffee)

Whenever I'm near one, I always pick up some monmouth coffee, I like the Café Mamani Apaza which tastes quite sweet.

:)

That's what I'm thinking.  I make my own iced tea, so why not throw coffee into the mix?  :)

I love coffee, but I have to admit we're not very adventurous! Maybe I'll have to change that! I used a cafetiere in the UK, but we have a drip machine here and I prefer that. We drink LaVazza, but I'll always bring back Dunkin' Donuts or Chock Full o' Nuts from the US.

My favorite coffee shop is 'The Daily Grind' in Fell's Point, Baltimore. They make the best mochas!

I make my own iced coffee...my favorite one right now: glass of ice, add milk to about 3/4 full, add vanilla syrup or a few drops of vanilla essence & then coffee.

So yummy & refreshing.

Wait you have enough ice in your freezer to do a glass of ice?  ;D

We will have an ice maker in the next house as we bag a bag of ice to smoosh into the freezer.

I use the drip coffee maker and do the brita water filter first ALWAYS...I have tried a few brands but now I am a Tesco strong 5 coffee kick.  I am glad all these links are flying as I want to try new coffee but honestly the past 4 I tried I thought were really bad.  I even went back to packets of Mocha fake crap.

I plan on picking up WAWA when we go back in Sept for sure.
In the states I was a half caff Maxwell house kinda girl.

I use cold black coffee (always have some in the fridge). I add it to a glass of ice, but I do mine about 3/4 coffee and then top up with milk. I prefer it more coffee-ish than milky. I don't like sugar or sweetener in mine usually, but I have been known to add a bit of gingerbread syrup on occasion.
