Good suggestion WebyJ!  I had an awesome latte and a bagel for 5 bucks- what a steal.  ;D
Sweet! Glad it was as good as I remembered...makes me miss the old 'hood though. Oh well...

I've enjoyed reading this thread.   :)

Question - what do you all do with the grounds in the cafetierre?  I usually don't use my cafetierre and opt for the drip coffee maker because it's easier to get rid of the ground.
I live in a flat with no garden of my own so can't compost.

I am a sink ground dumper as well.  It supposedly helps clear the drains, but that might be an old wives tail.  I rinse the grounds from my moka pot and I used to rinse my electric espresso pot grounds down the drain as well.

I think it is an old wives' tale. Most plumbers tell you to never put coffee grounds down the sink. I dump mine in the bin. There's always a bit left that I can't get out, and that gets washed down the sink, but I try to keep that to a minimum.

Since it is usually a pot I dump as much as possible in the trash and then the rest gets washed away down the sink.

I wish grains cleaned the drain I would be dumping them down the bathroom sink/bath tub

Found new independent coffee shop today that had LOTS of different kinds of drip coffee including decaf.  I think I've found a new home.

My favourite coffee place is:

They sell lovely stuff. And they were voted one of the top ten best coffee houses in Britain.

I've been subjected to instant coffee, living here with DH and in-laws. They drink Douwe Egberts, which is supposedly the best stuff ever created. I beg to differ. It tastes like water! I'm guessing this is going to be a resounding no, but, does anyone else drink instant?

On the coffee grounds thing, I remember from the States that people said it was more green to put the grounds in your compost bin. Don't know, though, since I don't have my own compost bin to put things into. ;D
