Don't hit me, but you're all going to have to wait until the 26th because we're having a reception the week after in PA and it's not fair to the relatives coming to that one that the internet should see the dress before they do... :(

But I can show off the bridesmaids' dresses that I made and a bunch of crafty lovelies in that week in between...!

I think that's perfectly reasonable! It wouldn't be fair on your family otherwise, but when we do get to see it, I bet you'll look amazing! :)

I seriously can't wait to see the big unveil as well!  It looks gorgeous from what you've shown and looks like you've done an amazing job with such old fabric.  Your grandmother will be proud. :)

If you like feather hair bits, you can help me decide on my wedding fascinator... I've written about the process of making it here but I can't decide whether to have just the white goose feathers and my grandma's brooch, or add in the smaller, speckled coque feathers to break up all the white a bit...

or

(I'm just holding them in place with my fingers so apologies my thumb is in the way and the coque feathers are slightly uneven here)

I like it with the coque feathers!  I think it gives it a little something extra, like a little more depth... or something that I can't really articulate.  :P :)  It's a lovely brooch by the way!

I'm digging the second one. I like the bit of dark colour in there, makes the white pop more, rather than having the feathers be all white.  ;)

Another vote for the coque feathers! :D

Wow, you all sure do like the coque! (I'm so sorry, I couldn't resist!!)

That's good that you're all going that way, because 10cm of those little feathers cost me more than the 50cm of the goose feathers so it'd be nice to use them here afterall. :) thanks!

amazingical
Best. word. ever.

Here's something that might be a bit easier to DIY for other upcoming brides... lavender buds as confetti! We used little glasseine bags with some vintage gardening material as the labels (after our printer ran out of ink) but you could use anything for the labels - something you've printed yourself, or newsprint, or old photos or clippings from wedding magazine, small paper US/UK flags, whatever!

I think I possibly stole the lavender idea from you awhile ago, as I'd been thinking about this too, as our garden is full of lovely lavender to dry at the moment and Tiger are doing it for £1 for a giant bag (lavender + lemon ice cream is awesome by the way :D)

Your bags are super cute! I was thinking of just little boxes, but I might do bags with badges on them, I bought a super badge it! And have gone a bit badge crazy and because we're a bit WW2 might do some loose lips sink ship, keep calm badges maybe :)
Maybe to match our cupcakes which feature lots of 40s moustaches, among other things :D
