I think I possibly stole the lavender idea from you awhile ago, as I'd been thinking about this too, as our garden is full of lovely lavender to dry at the moment and Tiger are doing it for £1 for a giant bag
If you're using the lavender from your garden, now is the PERFECT time to cut it. It'll keep for years in a dry place so you should go out with a pair of scissors as soon as we get a non-rainy day.

(lavender + lemon ice cream is awesome by the way :D)
I loooooove the lemon and lavender combination!! We've been making my friend's Lemon & lavender jelly recipe for years and we love it so much we requested it to the cupcake baker as one of our five wedding flavours! :D

I might do bags with badges on them, I bought a super badge it! And have gone a bit badge crazy and because we're a bit WW2 might do some loose lips sink ship, keep calm badges maybe :)
Go for it! I think those would be great!!

I do need to go out with the shears, but I do like seeing bumble bees all over it, I've been cutting it for culinary purposes for awhile, I also made some lavender sugar and a lavender infused panna cotta.

I've got lots of random ideas at the moment, I want to do some forties touches here and there to tie in with the Cabinet War Rooms without being Themey.

Who did you go with for your baker if you don't mind me asking? I've pretty much decided on crumbs and doilies :) http://www.crumbsanddoilies.co.uk/
I thought about doing it myself as I'm quite good at cake decoration but I don't know if I want the stress of it :)

ooh! ooh! A friend just brought us a dozen of their mini cupcakes last week and they're FANTASTIC!! And reasonably priced for their wedding stuff, too. Go for it!

This was my thought exactly. Only I'm better at the baking and eating than the decoration. :P

Cool! :)

I think we've been quoted at £160 for 3 dozen big, 2 dozen small, stand rental, delivery and a big cupcake for the top, which is super reasonable really.

We had a sample box through which was delish :D The salted caramel is to die for, and I really liked the red velvet.

Haven't found anywhere else that's as fun but with the cupcakes tasting so good so far. Love that they'll deliver as well.

LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO! oh. my. god.

I had my final fitting of my dress last night so my sister in law could pin a nice curve in the train so I can hem it tonight. I was wincing putting it on, afraid that there'd be some new fitting issue to fix or something, but it was still all great. So pheeeewwwwwww.

I've finished the silk lingerie, too, apart from the robe's hem, and that's only because I went through a whole pack of microtex sharp needles between it and the gown, and I'm waiting for the set I ordered to arrive.

This week is mostly crap like booking all the taxis and printing out lots of menus and signs and stuff. Family are all here (6 Americans staying at ours, aaaggh) so they're the slave labour to assemble order of service cards and placecards.

thanks! It's my last day at work today and I'm wearing my wedding shoes all day to try to break them in a bit more. Even the sys admin complimented them. I feel like Dorothy Gale. :)

They're these Irregular Choice shoes with the ankle bow, munchkin toe and the cupcake heel. OMG. And my hem is just barely short enough in the front that you'll get a peek of red.  :-*

I love those shoes,, I have a 1950's red dress with white polkdots that I am wearing at some of the wedding shows we are doing this autumn,  and debating on those or the ladybug ones. Both cute.

The wedding was BRILLIANT, awesome, fun, wonderful - everything it should be!  ;D

I've posted up a few comparison photos between my granny and the original gown and me in mine up on fehrtrade.com, but I'm doing a whole series of posts on everything we DIYed at our wedding (dresses, flowers, makeup, printed materials, cakes, music, etc) so there will be WAY more photos up over the next week or so.

Here's one:

Absolutely beautiful!  You did SUCH a gorgeous job.  Well done!  BTW, love the red of the shoe pokey out as you're walking.

Congratulations on your wedding!   ;D
