Hahaha, my friend posted on his facebook a picture of a road sign during the latest Massachusetts storm:
"The Roads are Wicked Slippery"  ;D

I saw that one too!  ;D Unfortunately, it's all too true!

Mmmm... walking to work this morning... was obviously quite exhausted- I saw a gritter in the distance - and somehow in my head I said "Wow, that's a really big camel. Why is a camel that big on the street"
Really?  A camel? Really?

I was rooting around in the fridge this morning, reorganising, seeing what fruit/veg is doing okay, what looks like it's going off & needs to be used up quickly, etc.  I picked up some large oranges to put out in the fruit bowl, then noticed some kind of strange white creamy substance smeared on them - a mystery!  It smelled like lotion or maybe yoghurt, very strange.  I showed it to DH, wiped the oranges off & then set to cleaning out the fruit drawer in the fridge to try & figure out what was going on in there!  Nothing?!  Still a mystery.

I went on about making up the grocery list, when I happened to look down at the front of my fleece.  I had been eating a pot of mango yoghurt before I started rooting in the fridge & making the grocery list...  And there on the front of my fleece were huge creamy blobs of mango yoghurt smeared all down the front of me (a lot of it!) that I apparently dropped on myself & never even noticed!  The orange mystery then solved.  :-[

How to Be Well Groomed (1949)

These old educational films from the 50s are pure chuckling gold.  "Sue avoids red nail polish, because it would draw attention to her stubby hands."  ;D
"It is really a matter of ending this silence and solitude, of breathing and stretching one's arms again."

Yes, Don & Sue both look like the kind of people I'd like to know.   :D
And I'd love to have that kitchen stove.

I found that entertaining!

I have watched far too many of these today.  If you type "Coronet Films" into youtube, there are several.  There is one called "Am I Popular" that is an absolute gem.  And don't even get me started on the one about starting your menses... ;D

So I took a huge load of glass bottles & jars etc to the recycling point at Morrisons this morning.  They had been piling up in our porch for awhile & I think this included all the way back to our Thanksgiving, so we are ace procrastinators.  They completely filled up the boot of our Micra plus one extra bag that wouldn't go into the boot.

In the car park there, I'm taking bag after bag to the glass collection bins.  An old fellow walks up & says - 'Have you been having a party, love?'

I say, 'I'm not really an alcoholic.'

He says, 'Yes it really does give the game away, doesn't it?'
