What has been anyone's experience on the timeline for response for those of you that submitted a visa not expedited?

My timeline is so far:
March 10, 2011 Applied online.
April 4, 2011 Submitted Biometrics.
April 12, 2011 New York Consulate received documents+Biometrics

*Haven't heard anything yet, like others on here hate the waiting. :)

So how long it take for a decision for those of you that did not use the expedited service?  ???

Thanks,
Karen

My Fiance and I didn't use the priority service and are still playing the waiting game.
Our time line so far:

Received email stating they'd received our pack - 5th April 2011
Received email requesting further documentation from us - 26 April 2011

So it's back to waiting again for us, they'll have the requested information from us by tomorrow afternoon. Have to say, it's almost worse knowing that they're looking at it than just sitting waiting around for word. I feel kinda sick and keep thinking about things that we maybe didn't do quite right. Also doesn't help that my birth certificate has gone missing in the post somewhere between here and South Dakota even though I used signed for international mail service. >.< If anyone stumbles across an awol birth certificate, send it home and tell it it's in trouble!!!  :P

Oh, ouch, having a missing birth certificate, I used FedEx with my documents and my fiancee did as well to send his documents to me from England.
Maybe since you did the followup with what they needed, it should be ok way I see it.
Know what you mean with the waiting, it is so nerve wrecking and hoping all is well, know one thing I sure went over things over and over before I submitted everything.
Good luck to you as well!
 :)

Congrats on one step closer!
Since you have paid for your application you are in the system.  I hope you have your documents mostly together because you need to mail your documents to the NY consulate - they must arrive there within 14 calendar days of your biometrics appointment or you start all over.

Yes, make sure all documents are there within 14 days of your biometrics appoinment and you will be fine.  I think the worst part is the waiting on their decision.  Still haven't received mine yet.  I submitted the documents to them on April 12th, so should be within a few weeks I hope.  Another step closer for us all. ;D

My wife's settlement visa was approved yesterday!  NY Consulate

12th April - married!
18th April - filed online form
21st April - Biometric data appt
27th April - submitted forms and support evidence, paid for priority handling
28th April - confirmation of receipt
3rd May - approved!

Just registered to share the good news, I've been a lurker here throughout the last year looking up useful information to help with our application. It was a lot easier and quicker than I could have possibly imagined.

Are you paying the $300 priority processing fee? I'd highly recommend it to anyone who has the budget for it.

Many Congrats, bentley!! Where in the UK will you guys be settling down together?  ;D

The waiting is doing my head in, wish we'd had the extra money at the time for the priority service now.  :(
