I'm in the same bout as all of you.  Me and husband were married in US 2.26.10.. we intially filed for him to remain in the states.  Everything was smooth at first, he was working, life was great and then in September immigration stated they didnt get something we sent, and they went back to his original tourist visa, deemed him illegal, and we were forced to send him back to the UK.  I had a daughter in college that I had to wait for to graduate. Altogether now we have been apart for 8 months.  I have just applied for settlement visa to go to the UK.  Biometrics are tomorrow, and I will mail the 5# package off priority.  I am so scared to death because he cant even visit the US until we hire attorneys to fight for him to have the right to come here at all.  So if the UK says no to my settlement visa for any reason, we are screwed.  I have never had a visa, nor passport or anything like that so I cant think of any reason they would say no, but after what the US immigration pulled, all of this just has me so scared.  I just want to be with my husband.  Its sad that we have to fight so damn hard just to have what others take for granted.  Cant help the fact we fell in love with someone over the atlantic ocean.  I wish everyone on here the best of success!

That almost made me cry. I hold back so much so I don't, if I didn't I would cry all the time lol. That's what it is isint it? Home. I want to go home. We'll all get approved and go home! Right?!

awww yes! i always say home is when i'm with my husband :) and that happens to be in the UK so that's my home now :)

The time difference is bad isn't it, I'm also in Washington and my husband is in the UK.  9 weeks and counting (slowly) until I can home forever!

YES. the time difference is a KILLER! it is the absolute bain of my life at the moment. i live most of my day while he is sleeping, and vice versa. I can't wait to go home forever :D to even have a date at this point would feel great, haha.

This is how I have felt through everything I've been through, just like you. It really isn't fair what we must go through to just live normal lives with our husbands. Good luck to you with everything, I'm sure it'll all work out! :)

Congrats!!!! ;D ;D ;D  So happy for you!
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

Way to go UKkitty!!! So excited for you..  I did my online application 6.13.11, had my biometrics this morning 6.16.11, and mailed everything with priority service the minute I got home.  I pray with everything I have that I will be on a plane by next weekend.  Wish the websites offered more information on financials.  Because of everything we have been through and all we have had to pay out, we only have about 1700USD in bank, but someone told me for a couple, after paying rent and utilities you had to have like 108 left over each week, and we have more than double that before I even start working, so Im hoping they concentrate more on that. Weird feeling after months of document collecting and copying that your life is now in a package for someone else to decide the fate of.. stress level is at 100   :-\\\\

Well, we took the plunge and got the application sent out today.

Here's our timeline (so far):

June 12th - applied online
June 16th - Biometrics appointment completed, packet sent out overnight Express Mail, paid for the Priority Service from Worldbridge as well.

When I went in for my Biometrics appt, I was almost 2 hours early, but they called me right away for the processing. Very quick and efficient service. I was actually disappointed it didn't take longer because I was watching the Dallas Mavericks celebration parade on their big-screen TV, and had to leave right in the middle of it :)
