I told you it would be fine! Congrats love. You can travel according to the date on your visa, it should have an effective date on it, I think, I don't have mine in hand atm, but UPS will be here soon. I put my date of travel as July 1st so more than likely that's my effective date, I can travel anytime after that date.

Thank you for your optimism and encouragement!  Yes, it says Valid From: 24/06/11 and that is the day of my flight!  I assume yours will be from the 1st!

Thank you again!  I'm seriously bouncing around the walls with excitement!

Yeah!! Congrats!! How nerve wracking...   Just got the emails saying ours has been received and is in process!!! My stomach is doing belly flops.... The waiting is a nightmare!!!! How did you people survive????
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

Hey, I really don't think either of you have much to worry about. I was a little stressed too, who wouldn't be? The one thing I kept in my mind is that we love each other, and nothing can come between that, we would have found a way, any way, to be together. As the Dali Lahma once said "worry is a wast of your spirt and energy. You must ask yourself ' is there anything I can do?' If the answer is 'yes', then why do you worry? If the answer is 'no', then why do you worry?" I know an approval would make life easier, but nothing can come between true love.

ukkitty, what a wonderful sentiment...funny enough, though i'm stressing and worrying and mssing my husband so much, those words are really helping to ease some of the anxiety (well, that and a glass or two of wine!)..we're just hanging on until we can go home.

it took them, about, a day from the time my packet arrived in the mail room for them to open it for processing.   it really does feel like it's going to amount to days of constantly checking email, but they work pretty quickly!

my time line:  biometrics taken - june 15
packet mailed off to consulate with settlement priority service - june 15
tracking states it had been received at the consulate and was sitting in the mailroom - june 16
first email(s) received stating packet had arrived safely and was being processed - june 17
received email(s) stating visas had been issued! - june 17 by end of day

try to relax as best you can and good luck!  i'm sure you will hear good news soon! :)

wow reweigh, that was quick!  I sure do hope ours is that quick as well.  Been without my husband for 8 months now and are both going mad!  Just want our lives back.. so many conflicting stories of what people sent and what was still needed.. the package I sent in was 5# of documents and Im still scared to death that I forgot something or didnt do something right..  when are you planning on flying to the UK?
