I'm curious to know the process on the ECOs side.

It's not just about traffic offenses.  If your application burped at one of the system interfaces, like biometrics for example, then BAM there's a delay until a human can sort it out.  Interfaces to other systems can fail over things as trivial as having an apostrophe in one of the text fields.

You also applied over a bank holiday, and it's the spousal season to boot.

About the ECO:  The ECO doesn't spend that much time on an application, as soon as proviso says all the stuff is ready he looks at it straight-away.  He spends a preset amount of time mulling it over and if he cannot reach a decision within that time, the app is referred.

They are not supposed to spend lots of time mulling things over because it slows the work flow down.

Thanks, Transpondia. The information you share is always useful to know. My application was received back on July 30th. I suppose I was much too optimistic in thinking it would be sorted out before Labor Day. :)

Today I received a response from WorldBridge - unexpectedly! And it actually seemed like a genuine reply made to me after really *reading* my email (the others have all seemed to be generic cut & pasting). It was actually surprisingly compassionate & nice! They did note the medical condition of my mother in law and said they will forward it on to NY for more information. NY is already aware based on my emails to them for WorldBridge's previous lack of response... but I suspect the person who sifts through emails is not an ECO and probably did nothing with the information? Maybe receiving it from WorldBridge will prompt a little more "looking into". Fingers crossed!

I hope this doesn't mean you gave them something else they have to check out.  Oy!

Nothing new, no. It was already included in my application.

Aaron555 I know you probably are far too busy now to come back to this thread, but I was curious... did you receive an email from the consulate to say they'd received the application? Mine was sent with priority mail, but still no email to say they've received it. I know it'd probably be a few more days until it's accepted, but I'm concerned that they've not emailed to say they've got all our stuff.

Thanks! And congrats again!

Oh damn  :(

We might have to move ours too, if I can't get into the country by 11 October absolute latest. I feel for you.
