Hooray for you! I finished my application but I am sooo nervous about hitting the final send button. I have one week to do it so I must but I am petrified that I'll eff something up.

It is stressful ... Just go over it until you are certain you have everything in it! I am sure its fine.

Yes but we got the first email giving us 48 hours to 10 days then a second one saying it was an exceptional case and can take up to 15 working days.

Going buy the few on here who had the same exceptional case it seems to take the full 15 days, think it's their was of punishing us for making errors first time round :)

Aug. 10 - documents received and signed for in the mailroom (per FedEx tracking)
Aug. 11 - received email stating that my application had been received and would be processed priorty
Aug. 12 - received email stating that my visa had been issued and my documents would be returned to me via UPS overnight.   :D

That's reassuring :) I've been over everything in my head and I can't see why we'd be an exceptional case, so hopefully we'll get that fast a turn-around. At the moment our worst case scenario is -

Sun Aug 14 : Applied online
Fri Aug 26 : Biometrics appointment
Mon Aug 29 : Send documents
Tues Aug 30 : Arrive in New York
Thurs Sept 15 : Intended date of travel
Tues Sept 20 : 15th working day

But of course that's not including however long it takes our case to be given to someone. But it makes it reaaaally hard to plan things! Do I move into an apartment at the beginning of September and risk living by myself for a month? Do I leave it until the beginning of October but risk him getting an almost immediate turn around? When do I book my time off work? (THANKFULLY my team leaders are amazingly understanding and I've booked provisional time off for the earliest time possible, but I can change that by weeks if I need to since no-one else is on holiday at that time).

I had SO hoped he'd get a biometrics appointment sooner than he did. I'm really disappointed about that one. So I definitely recommend getting your stuff there as SOOON as possible. I left my pieces of documentation a little late, hoping to get them as in date as possible and then had to wait a week or so for them to arrive. I got lucky and my parents found a mortgage statement, else I'd still be holding onto the stupid package waiting for a letter of their mortgage provider!! (We're saying we're living with them until we find somewhere)

CharllEmAIO, I'm surprised that he didn't get an earlier Biometrics appointment. May I ask which biometrics center it is?
Sept 2, online application
Sept 9, biometrics appointment, purchased priority & sent package to UK Consulate NYC
Sept 12, package delivered 9 am, email of receipt @2:56pm NY Time
Sept 15, passport arrived in the post with visa.

Seattle. I was sure Portland was an option but he says it didn't come up. He did say he had "limited date options" and he "chose a Friday to interfere with work less and hopefully have someone go along for the trip". He also seemed to think that the 26th was a lot sooner than it actually is. So hopefully I won't have to kill him for delaying it for, in my opinion, stupid reasons :P

Dear Group,

Please put out some good energy for me today...after 37 days from submitting my biometrics, I have just received the following message from Worldbridge (Paris):

"Visa decision ready for pick up by Applicant or Courier company."

Tomorrow, hopefully when I open the envelope, I will have a fiance visa and can go back home!

Thanks, everyone!

This last day of waiting is much worse than the previous month.

Unlike the US centres, the Paris office only lets you know a decision has been made, you don't find out whether or not you have the visa until your documents are returned and you open the envelope.

How will I sleep tonight!?

I am thinking of you, due to various reasons we having been dealing with visas for the past 3/4 months and it's been a nightmare, the past 2 weeks since we submitted a 2nd time have been horrendous it's the most stressful time.

I hope it's all ok, I am sure it will be with all these positive thoughts :)
