Seems like today is the lucky day for lots of people... and I've always been a fan of the number 7....

And today.. was my day as well!!! Finally - visa issued!!! Yahooo!!

Applied online 7/22
Biometrics traken 7/28
Application received confirmation from NY Consulate - 7/30
Visa Issued - 9/7

27 business days... and way too many tears of frustration to get there! At long last!

I'm seriously praying for everyone who is still waiting! It has been one of the worst experiences ever... they will come, guys!! And I can't wait to hear when they do!!

Congratulations EmmJayye!! Maybe that email did do the trick : ) Anything else is going to take zero patience.

Now I am going to be even more anxious about our application over the next week!

Congrats EmmJayye! I know you've been super anxious to get over there. Here's hoping this means NY is addressing settlement visas more quickly now that the student rush is winding down!
Arrived 12 Oct 2010/Spousal Visa
Whole new world for a Southern gardener, but I'm very happy.

Thank you, everyone!! You have all been so supportive and insightful through this whole process. I'm not sure I would have held it together as well if it wasn't for UKY, its members, and the wonderful way everyone sticks together!

I'd also like to thank the Academy... er, WorldBridge ;), for eventually pulling through in the end.

I can't wait to make it over to the UK (in about 3 weeks... notice already given to work today!) and maybe get to actually meet some of you UKYers! And that will happen... because those visas that are still pending are just about to get issued! Positive vibes!

Aaron555 I know you probably are far too busy now to come back to this thread, but I was curious... did you receive an email from the consulate to say they'd received the application? Mine was sent with priority mail, but still no email to say they've received it. I know it'd probably be a few more days until it's accepted, but I'm concerned that they've not emailed to say they've got all our stuff.

Thanks! And congrats again!

Hey Joffafan,

I sent it standard overnight shipping (Fedex) on 8/30, and it was delivered about 1pm on 8/31, and I received a confirmation E_mail from them at about 3pm that same day.

I've read around here that its not entirely uncommon for them to miss sending that "Receive E-mail"

Guys, I just received some horrible news...

I'm going to be stuck with my wife for the rest of my life, AS HER VISA WAS APPROVED TODAY!!!!!!

Visa app done online: 21/8
Biometrics done: 23/8
Visa mailed: 28/8 using priority mail through USPS

Not sure when they received it as they didn't feel it necessary to email us when they got it, but just got the approval email!!!!

Thank you to EVERYBODY on UKY, you're all fantastic, this board has kept me sane all these months.

I cannot thank Webyj enough in particular, words fail me. She has been our visa guru from the day we decided to start researching how to go about getting a visa, until this absolutely fantastic, life changing day. Yes we did our own research, but without Webyj's reassurances and patience we surely would have spent very much longer (and probably spent a lot more money - we'd have been scared into using a lawyer or visa service) than we eventually did. So thank you so much Webyj, you've been a rock for us (and me especially) during this very nerve wracking time.

You were right, we didn't need to worry at all. (:
