UK Visa Settlement Processing Time

Hello everyone!! This is my first official post. Well I actually heard the news on Friday that my visa was approved which made my weekend! I couldn't be happier. But I definitely wanted to share my timeline because I know how anxious and nerve racking the process is, and it was very helpful for me to look at other posts and somewhat gauge the timeframe (even though all visas are viewed differently it was comforting to see others experiences).

Anyways, here it goes . . .

Submitted Online: 8/19/11
Biometrics taken: 8/26/11
Application mailed: 9/6/11
Application Delivered: 9/7/11 (but didn't receive a confirmation email until 9/13/11)
ECO Email: 9/15/11
Approval Email: 9/16/11

All and all it took about 8 business days from the first email they sent to me. By the way I did not use priority service.

I got approved today. 

Sept 13 Biometrics
Sept 14 Signed for by J. Blythe and confirmation email (at 5pm)
Sept 22 Email stating that my visa has been issued.

6 business days.  As soon as I get my hot little hands on it tomorrow and check the spelling I'll be going back to MD for a few days and then I hope to fly out Tuesday. 

I was having a panic attack reading about everyone 24 hour turnovers and was convinced  that I would be refused.  I couldn't come up with a single reason for them to refuse me though.  We sent everything and I was very careful to learn from this board.  I called my mom, just crying to her trying to figure out if I should email them and ask them to change the return address as my lease is up a week from tomorrow and I wanted to be in MD.  Just as I was about to send the email I got the confirmation.

I applied online Friday Sept. 16th
biometrics- Monday Sept. 19th
mailed it off priority- Monday Sept. 19th
Received email saying the received it- Thursday Sept. 22nd
Received email saying my visa was issued- Thursday Sept. 22nd

I can't believe they approved it a few hours after receiving it! good luck to others waiting

So pleased Beatle, looks like they made up for there earlier mistake or yours whichever way you look at it.

Beatle, check your visa carefully.  Mine had a mistake and has to go back.  The UK hates me.

It's just another low moment in the pathetic tragedy that is my life.  Luckily this has happened before and after pming the person I found out that it's never been a problem for her and that they didn't bother to fix it.  She had ILR now.  I'm giving them most of Monday to reply before booking my ticket for Tuesday. 

All I want is to be with my husband.  All the universe wants its to keep us apart. 

Mine is a printing alignment on my name (slight overlap). they emailed me yesterday asking for gwf number and a scan of my visa so they can see the evidence & look into this further (their words). We'll see how it goes on Monday.
