I'm still waiting to hear (no priority, but the email they sent saying they have my docs say they are processing most within 4 days, so we'll see).

Congrats ladies!! So relieved for you!

KBee I'm still in the boat with you. But I also didn't pay for priority. Fingers are losing circulation from being crossed ;)

I hear ya.  My stress level is through the roof.  I just want to see that "you're visa has been issued" email (or get the visa in my returned passport).  I will be so gutted if it's refused.

It's my first time posting, but my 1,000th time consulting UKYankee, as I figured out the ins and outs of applying for a fiancé visa.

I thought I'd share my timeline since I'm at the same stage as a few of you (crossing my fingers until they are blue).

Completed Online Application March 14
Biometrics Appointment in St. Paul, MN March 19
Documents sent via FedEx March 19 and signed for March 20
I received NO email telling me that my documents were received.
The dreaded "Further processing required email" arrived March 22 (and bumped my processing time up to 15 days)

Waiting...I haven't received any emails or calls requesting more information. I know that many others (on these forums) have received the notice that further processing is required, so I'm trying not to worry, but you know how these things go... (insert worried face!) 

I'm also trying to guess why further processing is required....is it because I have a long travel history?  Is it because my fiancé started his job in the UK in November 2011 (after we lived and taught English in China together)? 

When I find out more information I'll post again. :)

Nov 2011 he got a job (!!!)
Mar 2012 he got a flat
14 Mar 2012 completed online settlement (fiancé) visa application
19 Mar 2012 Biometrics
20 Mar 2012 Application package delivered by FedEx
22 Mar 2012 Email stating further processing required :/
27 Mar 2012 Email stating your UK visa has been issued

My visa was issued today!!!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Timeline (no priority)
  • Online application completed: March 14
  • Biometrics done and supporting docs sent via FedEx overnight: March 19
  • Docs received by consulate (FedEx tracking): March 20
  • Email stating docs being processed: March 22
  • Email stating visa was issued: March 28

Now just waiting to receive my passport back tomorrow.

So...
3/14: online app submitted
3/16: biometrics taken, documents shipped (non priority)
3/19: documents received
3/21: email confirmation app & docs were received
3/28: email confirmation of visa being issued

It really makes you wonder how worthwhile it is to pay for the priority processing :-\\\\

I suppose it depends significantly on the time of year you're applying though. Congrats everyone! Let's keep the good luck ball rolling for those still waiting =P

It has been going quickly recently. But I'm a worry wart and even though I knew I wouldn't be traveling until May, I thought I'd purchase it just so I wouldn't be a moody magpie and give myself ulcers.

Congratulations everyone!!

I also received an email today telling me that my visa has been issued.  It was a busy day for the UKBA in NYC!

My thoughts are with everyone still waiting to hear back and those that will apply in the future!
