We sent ours off to NY on Friday, it arrived Monday but we have not received an email notification. How long can these take non-priority. I was under the assumption you got an email so you knew they had it?

Duke, with mine they emailed when they received it to say it was in process, but that was with priority service. I am not sure if they wait to email once the actually start the assessment or how that works. Best of luck to you. 

Thanks for that, hmmm I am thinking they should email and let you know they have received it at least then put it to the bottom of the pile. Just another worry to add onto my ever growing list : (

I applied non-priority to NY consulate.  I received an email 2 full business days from the consulate saying that they received my application and that it was being processed.  Give it another day. I heard of people having to wait 5 business days before they receive an email.

I have never received an email from any consulate.  Not for my fiance visa, my FLR or my ILR.   I did however, receive a letter saying that my app had been received when I applied for my FLR and my ILR, but then nothing else for 14 weeks. 

Thanks for the replies, I shall wait patiently till the start of next week then. It must be when they open your application that they do sit down with your application properly. I hope they start it soon! Good luck to everyone else who is applying too!

VISA APPROVED 12 August. That's 13 working days I think

We are four weeks in tomorrow, non priority fiancé visa through chicago.  Is anyone else having he same waiting time as us.  I can't believe how incredibly stressful this process is.  Any help or reassurance would be greatly appreciated.

I am on 10 business days (2 weeks) of processing for an unmarried partner settlement visa. I applied via NY consulate. 

Rachel and Jesse, I'm sorry to hear yours is taking so long. There's nothing I can say except I understand the stress you're going through. I'm on 29 business days (six weeks) with the LA consulate. I got the email that they received my application (non-priority) on July 1st.

If there's anyone out there who recently applied to the LA office for settlement PLEASE share your timeline. And for everyone still waiting- good luck and hang tough!

My application was dropped off by an expeditor on August 2nd, paid for priority service as well - today will be 8 biz days - Los Angeles! Oh and it's our one month wedding anniversary today too - so wish I was with my husband right now!

Hopefully Friday the 13th will be my lucky day!!!

I RECENTLY APPLIED FOR MY HUBBYS SETTLEMENT VISA FOR UK, WE RECIEVED AN EMAIL FROM CHICAGO AUG 3 2010 SAYING THEY HAVE RECIEVED IT, NOW WERE STILL WAITING FOR APPROVAL, IM OVER IN USA FOR VACATION WITH KIDS, WERE LEAVING AUG 23RD, IM HOPING WE HEAR BEFORE WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO UK.....
